Battery Failure ? Bison Roll Off Trailer Issues !!

Quick walk through of a issue I'm currently having with my trailer. Turns out to be a bad battery. At first Advanced gave me the wrong battery. It was still acting up so I went back swapped it out a second time. The built in charger seems to be broken so will need to get a replacement.

I went to visit Bison out in PA. I found them to be very expensive , in comparison to other more common brands. I also talked to them about paint scheme. The guy that was giving me a tour strongly suggested against anything other than black. Which I thought was annoying I mean it’s about branding. I like their standard rail system and I think that’s really the value they offer since you aren’t locked into having to buy their bins. Also their bins are easily convertible to a hook lift system.

You definitely touch your dumpsters more than we do we pick them up dump them and drop them off at their next location pretty much always.

9 months with my Bison. Same thing. Dead batteries and batteries were already out of warranty. Good trailer for the money, but been chasing some electrical gremlins with the brakes. Truck keeps dinging brake disconnected. Can not pin down where the issue is. PITA.

Mine was in the axles themselves. I also had an issue with the 7 pin.

@@outdoorzwithcraigdz I thought it was 7 pin connectors not making good contact. Pinched them a little and added dielectric grease. Was fine a few laps around the block, then came back. Very frustrating! My one tire has flat spots from brakes coming on hard suddenly when trying to stop.

@@BackRoadBound yeah might be an internal issue like mine. How old of a trailer if its still under warranty I would reach out Axle warranty might be longer. Sounds like my issue. Mine never worked from factory but would randomly work here or there. Traced all the wires and nothing. it was internal in the axle.

@@outdoorzwithcraigdz Trailer is only 8months old. So probably. My charger just went out too. A lot of little problems staring to add up.

@@outdoorzwithcraigdz I seem to have finally isolated the problem. Just like you said, it was the wiring going inside/through the axle. I think I can pull new wire, but just running 3 brakes for now. Cost me a now bald tire and a lot of frustration/pucker moments. The truck kept saying "trailer disconnected, service trailer brake system" I was thinking it was an open circuit, but found out it will flash that when there is a short in the wires.
