If you say 'dispose of them properly' it would be smart to mention THAT IS NOT in the garbage but at a collection point for chemicals and old video tapes and the like. Probably near a supermarket. Unfortunately 90% of people think that 'dispose properly' means 'wash down the toilet'. Which is seriously WRONG.

My laptop is not turning on without charger. Also when I'm disconnecting the charger it's automatically turning off. Moreover when I'm connecting the charger it's w Autometically turning on (no need to press the power button). And showing that 95% charge remaining. Hp elitebook 840 g3. Plz tell me what to do.

You can try screwdriver to remove the battery but be super careful to not puncture it. Because these batteries can burn or explode when damaged or punctured. If you decide to force it out make sure you do it outside the house. Try to unjam the left lock first.

Assuming the charger is good; sometimes laptops with bad batteries will not work even if plugged in because power is routed through the battery. You can try to take the battery out and then plug in to see if that is the issue.

It gets weaker over time for sure. If you see it bulge up then change it otherwise it's up to you when to change it.

It could be your charging adapter, battery or motherboard. Start by testing the charger to see if 12 volts come through. If battery does not hold charge that could be the problem as well.

Those are probably the same but you should buy the one for your specific laptop. I don't understand why you would consider buying another model battery...

type info in the search next to the start on bottom left, then open system information and look at the system model, it'll tell you. Mine is G2.
