It is getting hot down there and I was wondering about the progress of this room; then this video is uploaded. Hope you get this room up and cool ASAP.

What's missing is the vapour barrier between the insulation and the plaster boards. Condensation will always happen and will now create mold in between the walls. Especially in the wintertime, when the heat from the batteries meets the cold outside walls in your garage.

Love the hidden message! I once redid my bathroom floor with tile and before we laid the tile, my buddy wrote "Mitch sat here" next to the toilet. :)

12:01 - most likely the weight of the insulation is pressing down and therefore makes it down there thicker than it the 72 mm. The workaround is to always tape / wire / fix the insulation on the top first and then the issue will be gone or at least much less than it has been now. I have done that multiple times and it always helps a lot more in the long run cause the insulation stays connected to the top even distributed and not compressed on the bottom and thin on the top or even with a gap on the top. I had face such issues the first time when I had to open an old insulation and couldn't understand first why the top of the wall had such a gap in the insulation. But that also depends on the situation, inside wall, outside wall or even roof.

I made 18 kwh today up North with a high of 31F (1C). Not bad for middle of the wither.

Battery room is making good progress, put in a insulated drop ceiling, to separate the room from the roof, making an air gap, will help keep the roof heat from getting in. But I think the battery room is just a excuse to have an air conditioned lab in your garage? Will see when the work bench moves in. In Ontario Canada it's -20C, my garage walls and ceiling have 6 inches ( non of that metric stuff) of insulation, floor has 1 1/2 inches of foam, keep it at 13C, makes a great winter workshop.

A spacer between the batteries would give some airflow if needed

Try a piece of piece of mould (timber or plastic) for the section from the battery shelf to the gyprock rather than silicone. Will look a lot neater.

Normally you glue and screw the sheets on, I have had my Battery Room Aircon running since 18 Dec 2024, I set it to 24 degs C and runs 24/7, my consumption has been about 2 kwh daily with outdoor temps running as high as 39degs and low as 11degs, that just outside Bathurst, be interesting to see your daily comsumption once up and running, my is only the smaller Carrier brand from Bunnings

Hey Andy, I purchased the Yixiang 48v battery boxes and 16 cells of there MB21 cells. I have to report that I have a cell that failed and am trying to get it replaced by Yixiang. So far no luck on getting a replacement. The cell sits at 3.2V with the rest of the cells and when a load (15-30amps) is applied the cell will drop to 2.8V and if a large enough load (50) amps or more is pulled then the cell drops to 2.6 volts and triggers the BMS to shut off. It’s the only cell that is dropping drastically like this and will return to 3.2 volts after the load is turned off. So far it looks like I will not be purchasing anything from Yixiang anymore. My 48v battery boxes came damaged and with missing parts. I was supposed to get a replacement for a broken part and never got anything. STAY AWAY FROM YIXIANG!

I think you had been calibrating too many Spats when you cut that angle. Here is $5 for some coffee when you do the next angle.

the stacking recommendation on thermals is "under extreme use" , , 30amp into that stack is nothing, 3000amp out under drain is , it is why most automotive power packs have chillers , it for power drain conditions most of the time, now fast charge is a thing it will work there too.
