Hey Jeff, longtime viewer here. Just thought I'd chime in with my 2 cents about your little pharmacy box. I like the concept, and have one that I carry myself, though mine is condensed quite a bit more than yours (into an altoids smalls container). The Advil & Motrin are exactly the same thing, Ibuprofen, so you could save a bit of space there by removing one of them. Dramamine is just 50mg of diphenhydramine, or 2 benadryl, so you would be better served by carrying extra benadryl to help with motion & sea sickness, not to mention benadryl can help with seasonal allergies, allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), migraines, and even insomnia, so it should definitely be in your kit. Claritin & Claritin D seems a bit redundant to me, as you might be better served by carrying just the claritin, and then a standalone pseudoephedrine based cough and cold pill, both the day and night variety (the nighttime variety will have it's own antihistamine in it). I don't know about you, but one of the main reasons I carry aspirin is in case someone has heart attack or stroke, (most people opt for ibuprofen or acetaminophen over aspirin if given the choice of the 3). If giving aspirin to a heart attack patient, it's important to make sure that the aspirin is absorbed into the body quickly, so you have them chew 325mg of aspirin, but the caveat to this being, if that aspirin is enteric coated (like your Bayer aspirin appear to be) it'll take roughly 15 minutes for their body to fully absorb that dose of aspirin, even if chewed thoroughly. The easiest way to overcome this downfall, is by carrying multiple 81mg chewable aspirin tablets, instead of less 325mg tabs. It also allows you to be more precise in dosing. Alka-seltzer makes a chewable heartburn tablet, that also contains simethicone, which will help in reducing discomfort from gas. You might consider replacing the standard tums with those chews to maximize the space in your kit. *licensed armed security officer & private investigator, with an interest in first aid, preparedness, & survival*

@@cutlerylover well I do agree with that statement with these pills... other pills do have a shelf life, sometimes years but I remember a medicine I was given a number of years ago that only had a 1.5 year lifespan. But again I agree with your statement about these pills

Great idea but ibuprofen for this virus outbreak isn't a good idea. BBC interview with medical professionals said that ibuprofen is not recommended for managing coronavirus symptoms. Those already taking ibuprofen for other conditions should not stop without consulting a doctor. I just got put on leave from work for twelve weeks with full pay! I have very mixed feelings on this

The Ibuprofen is for headaches or mild pains if Cristina or I got sick we would take the tylenol for a fever reducer...

As a health care worker, I humbly suggest you take the Advil out of your kit during this crisis. It has been proven that ibuprofen (Advil) worsens the symptoms of COVID-19 as it can lower the immune system temporarily during a course of it. Tylenol for fever. 👍🏻
@therioq1234 жыл бұрын
Where did you get that information?

@@itsawonderfulknife7031 Correct me if I'm wrong but what's the proof it actually worsens the symptoms? the reports are rather conflicting on that from several/different researchers and scientists. @@cutlerylover If it serves to your nedd great but for other people tempted to use proper medicines that way i think its dangerous, in my opinion the medicines have to be in their box, forelder people is useful putting them on labeled boxes by weeks and by takes on each day so they dont forget, but they have to be prepared by someone younger and more capable, but is just my opinion
