Jeff, self-inflating means just that, let it self-inflate. Every breath you blow into it sends in moisture which can accumulate. This really reduces the life of the product especially if used in summer where warm moist foam innards tend to harbor nasties that destroy the materials. In winter, if you blow into these things the moisture can freeze and crack your valves or material. Best to let it self-inflate and just add a puff or two if needed. After discovering all of this the hard way I began to carry a tiny bike tire pump (useful for firebuilding too) that fit just right.

There are different lvls of 22 blank with different colors I think black is the stronger one. They use them in construction for a ramset. TheLockPickingLawer destroys several locks with one of those and someone commented about the different power lvls of ammo.

The trip cord is two sides of your boundary. The first 90 deg turn doesn't have enough drag to stop the function of the trip. So two is enough to make a square perimeter if you need.

I would probably just use it for a single line without any turns just to be sure it didnt get hung up on the tree I used for the turn unless I used a dowel or something that was super smooth I wouldn't trust that to function 100% of the time

Jeff: Check the legality in your area, but that .22 blank firing alarm is used by people in some areas to help deter bears and other predatory animals from their property. Also, for cheap blanks, you may try looking in a hardware store! Again, depending on what's legal in your area, there may be anchor-driving devices which use .22 blanks to drive an anchor into concrete. The blanks sold for these are exactly the same as elsewhere, but can be more readily available (sometimes a bit less expensive) since they're not sold as ammo blanks, but specific for this purpose.

@@behindthen0thing the buck knives 119 you get at Walmart or home depot or any place that sells "camping or survival gear for cheap" tends to have a rougher finish where some will say that the guard is sharper than the blade.

I know this is late, but I own a buck 120-1 and it's just a bigger 119-1. The wood on that is Dymondwood. I'm sure you already know what that is but if not, it's a common wood, usually birch, that was layered and impregnated with some resin, making it strong, and also dyed for the desired look/color.

That alarm thing is cool, but I like the one that uses 12 gauge shotgun blanks better. Bigger boom! A .22 isn't all that loud..not whisper quiet by any means, but a 12 gauge is like 10 times louder. If that doesn't scare a bear away from your camp, then nothing will, lol.That being said..this is one of the better boxes I've seen, and I wish you could buy just one box..if you could, I would..buy this one. Most I've seen are pretty ho hum, but I like this one. The handle wood is cocobolo btw. I love the 119 and the 120. Great knives.

A two person tent is a two person tent if you are not really tall or overweight. Never had problems fitting. My 2 Meter high friend hat quite some trouble in almost every tent he had.

Those energy strips in this kit remind me of the real old MREs that included "pep" pills that were literally amphetamines real speed that is illegal on the streets now, but in some of the old MREs these were included for pilots I think for long mission so they didn't go to sleep!

I think it's more for hunting, it's not practical alarm for anything. They have better alarms than that uses batteries with a magnet attached with a string once that magnet pulls away from the box sets off the alarm it's very load like an ear piercing alarm. That won't stop until you connect the magnet back on the box. It's best to have an extra magnet or there is an on and off switch.
