@@burstday actually, even then, he probably saved her more. When he regained control he killed himself to prevent Dark Samus from using him again. He did that for his Honor and for the good of Samus' mission. Much Respect to him.

@@ricardocorrea2270 it's heavily implied as he was someone Dark Samus had to outright dominate because his will was so strong. That's why he growls and grunts when he fights. It's not 100% confirmed, but either he iced himself while he had a bit of his will or Dark Samus took the opportunity to kill him. On the Wiki, it says that it's unknown whether he killed himself willingly or whether DS took him out, but given his personality it's likely the first.

Even though we only got to know Rundas for such a brief period of time in Metroid Prime 3, you still get connected with him and this will hit hard, if anything you still feel sympathy for Rundas even though you are forced to fight him. I think I also heard somewhere that he regains himself just after you defeat him, but Dark Samus' control forces him to kill himself with ice so he can't help Samus destroy the Seed.

It's not exactly known what happened in his death. I heard from others that it's possible that in the moment he gained consciousness, he killed himself in attempt to save samus from himself. Tbh I like this explanation a little better.

@ArtBuffalo It's also crazy that his willpower and sense of honor was so strong that even corruption couldn't stop him. Dark Samus had to personally invade his mind to keep him compliant. That shows just how badass of a character he was and how much his pride and honor meant to him.

Man, I remember Metroid Prime 3. Rundas was actually a pretty legit character. Didn't exactly want to fight him but was left with no choice. Sure wish I could see more of Rundas. He deserves a fan base, A Spot in Smash, Fan made Flash Movies, Remixes like this. I mean...He's not a main character but it would be nice to learn more about such a temporary character...Who was corrupted by Dark Samus...Hm.

Angelic there are shit of viable characters they can choose from in the metroid universe (besides ridley) so hopefully with MP4 coming soonish (hopfully) the new smash brothers will include someone.

James Ehlenfeldt I hear you, dude. I think Rundas and Sylux are the most likely if anything. Gandrayda would probably have hardware limitations being able to copy everyone's ability, Ghor would be an odd choice, although I'm not sure how the Hunters from Prime Hunters would work.

Prime 3 is depressing as fuck. Samus has to kill her friends. Then you see her sitting in Sky Town at the end, derelict ruins of her people, who are likely extinct. I personally imagine she's crying.
