In my opinion, the potential was there, but then they decided to hand production of it to the jiggle physics guys who THEN decided to make Samus listen to Adam for no real explained reason. I mean I get that she still respects the guy, but COME ON! She's not part of the Federation troopers anymore. At most Adam should only have been able to make SUGGESTIONS, not strict orders without an explained reason (like, maybe: "Look, if you're going to help, I'm afraid you're going to have to obey section of . In other words, you're either going to limit your equipment usage or I can't let you past this point." And Samus followed that because she still respected Adam from long ago. BOOM! 1000% better than what they did!) The PTSD part was okay, not that great at execution, but great in concept.

+MiningwithPudding Actually, Team Ninja just used the story Sakamoto handed to them, which was supposed to be the plot of the movie that got canned. Sakamoto is also to blame for the atrocious control scheme, he insisted that the game only use the Wii Remote. Team Ninja wanted to use the Nunchuk and allow people to move in first-person mode, but since Sakamoto locked them to only the remote they had no way of letting people move in first person.

I remember listening to this back when it released and now with Dread's announcement, Metroid is all I've been thinking about as of late. Symphonic masterpieces, made by FANS nonetheless, show how much love and dedication this series gets from its die hard day-oners and newcomers alike when Nintendo all but neglected it until Samus Returns But I think Nintendo is finally waking up to answer that call for Metroid to make its comeback And I do hope its here to stay if not EXPLODE with popularity Skytown Elysia theme brings me to tears. I love cinematic pieces and movie soundtracks, and hearing it from a game I seriously think should get a movie of its own one day is simply so euphoric, epic and emotionally touching to hear how well it was made to fit cinematography standards. It brings hope for the fans Another noteworthy music piece worth checking out is Metroid NET MISSION's main theme. It was from a fan game that seems all but abandoned now except for its soundtrack. PLEASE give that a listen if you're looking to satisfy your Metroid thirst. Sincerely, a die-hard Metroid fan. See you next mission...

At first I didn't like Metroid Cinematica very much. I was expecting it to be more like Into The Green World or The Crimson Depths. Those tracks stick closer to the source material and I wanted more of that. I expected an orchestrated Super Metroid album. What I heard was Metroid Cinemitica taking a lot of liberties with the source material of all the Metroid games. I didn't like that at first. In fact, I almost hated it. So I put the album aside for about a month. Then when I revisited and had time to consume the album as a whole, something clicked. The light came on. My mind was blown! I heard (and saw in my mind) a beautiful story, told through music, instead of what I thought I wanted to hear a month prior. I now LOVE this album! Please support this artist and go buy his music. Oh, and I love Chrono Cinematica even more!

Thank you, and I understand that. The HoaH tracks were just one-off tribute cover tracks. But as a composer, the idea of doing just a "cover" album is very unappealing to me. To be honest I would much rather make my own original soundtracks, but then nobody would listen to them. Plus there are countless straight remixes out there already. So the idea was to make something like a virtual movie score, referencing the original material but with a unique voice. Each track must be considered to serve an overall narrative experience, which shapes their direction to a degree, though there are plenty of more direct representations of the sources, such as Inferno. But the bottom line is that each "Cinematica" album is not meant to be just a set of remixes, but a soundtrack to a movie which doesn't exist. As such, there will be original material in the album which doesn't exist in the games. I know it's not what everyone wants, but it's what I enjoy as a musician.
