As a 12 year old who didn't know how make balanced teams, this battle was a nightmare. I just remember attempting to beat Colress like 20 times, so this theme stokes primal rage in my soul. HOWEVER, I will never say no to a Zame remaster ;)

Even with a somawhat 'balanced' team and knowledge of what I'm doing, he can be tough to beat. A did a 'bug run'' with Volcarona, Scolipede, Crustle, Galvantula (and Ferrothorn). I usually beat every trainer I find, my Volcarona usually being a bit higher leveled than the rest. Yet I nearly failed to beat him and Volcarona was ko'd during it. (the league was also tough tho, even with a fairly well trained bug/grass team)

Colress's theme was what spurred me into loving Pokemon music. I never really paid much attention before his theme started playing in my 12 year old ears. After his theme hit me like a hurricane, I started listening to GlitchxCity's remixes. And that lead me to a world of many talented remixers. Now I'm an adult and listening to Glitch, Retrospecter, Blitzit, Mixeli, GaMetal, and, of course, Zame. Colress's theme is always a treat to listen to and is now my favorite battle theme, period.

Zame, I just want to say that your talent is unparalleled. Seriously. I’ve seen so many great pokemon remixers, but none match your skill in conjuring up memories. You don’t go for flashy epic orchestral remixes, yet by remaining in simplicity you create incredible remasters that feel as if I’m hearing the original soundtrack of a DS pokemon game on the switch. It’s truly amazing, and you need waaaaaaaaaaaay more subs.

Going into 2021 still listening to this. Gen 5 has arguably the best soundtrack. Like holy hell was a lot of work put into it to play into regular free roaming into using it to portray the emotions of the character we come across. At least best soundtrack for the regular Nintendo DS pokemon games. I remember my final fight with Colress was so much fun, wanting to battle him along with this theme.

The battle at first sounds like tuning a machine and then using it it. ( Why the chorus sounds like a synthesizer getting feedback from another synthesizer. 1:19 ) I feel like Zame focused on that rather than the ~8 reoccuring samples, which is DEFINITELY the right way to go with this theme.
