Just when i thought a ww2 series couldnt get any better, you raised the bar. Your guadalcanal series is by far thee most accurate, in depth, yet remains entertaining and informative battle series to date. I am very very impressed. Hats off to you sir.

Thank you for your most kind comment. I put a lot of effort into these lectures. As stated on my channel page, it is my aim to make these lectures both informative but in an entertaining way. I see that I have accomplished that goal. Thanks again. More on the way...

Just subscribed to your channel, I think I've watched all your videos and found them to be so well researched, very entertaining and your narration is perfect. Delighted to see that you're planning more.

Thank you for your interest and for watching my video lectures. It is quite gratifying to know that people are watching them and learning something about this war. I just posted an amended version of Guadalcanal: The First Offensive Part 5 that includes a corrected misspelling. I strive for historical and grammatical accuracy. Keep pointing errors out to me. Thanks again.

Very good, but there is nothing regarding the December 8th air raid.

I covered the Japanese attack on Wake on December 8, 1941 in a previous lecture entitled The First 24-Hours of the War. This was one of my first KZbin lectures and I was on the steep part of the learning curve of building these PowerPoint lectures. I have taken it down to improve the graphics and audio part. I fully intend to put it back, but each one of these lectures takes several weeks to build including reading about the battles, selecting maps then editing the maps, adding graphics, photos, and animation, then repeated editing. It is a lot of work, but very gratifying. The original audience for these lecture was the tour groups I take to these island battlefields each year. Building the lectures about the battle of Guadalcanal took months and I am still not done (still working on a three part series on the naval battles of Guadalcanal - the first one is already on my KZbin channel page). Thanks for your comment. Stay tuned for more. One of these days I will repost The First 24-Hours of the War that covers the December 8 attack on Wake. Beginning in May I will be out of the country on tours (Aleutian Islands, Okinawa, Guadalcanal, Kokoda Track, Midway, Wake, and American Samoa) so it will be awhile before I get around to this.

At the time of the surrender a counterattack was being led by a Marine Corps lieutenant I don't recall his name in the moment. He was driving Japanese back when he was ordered to surrender.

Was it Lt Robert Hanna?

@@johnshively5338 I believe his rank was LT name Poindexter. Response when order to surrender, "Oh shucks!". Source " USMC in WWII ".

@@JohnRodriguesPhotographer Thanks for clarification. My source was Pacific Alamo by John Wukovits.

@@johnshively5338 No worries. You can fund the paper back set on ebay, fairly reasonable.

Your audio levels are inconsistent... Which distracts from otherwise good content.

Thanks for your comment. This was one of my first KZbin lectures. I think the audio part of subsequent lectures has improved with a better headset. Please let me know. Thanks again.
