Battle Mode : Mario Kart Tour's WASTED Potential

in 2022, alongside an update that would change Mario kart Tour forever, Nintendo also added Battle Mode to the game starting with the titular "Battle Tour". What seemed like a promising start very quickly spiraled into one of the most wasted modes in the game. Considering that Battle Tour is the first to recycle a Tour, I'd figured it's time to take a look back at Battle Mode a year later and see just how little Nintendo cared about it in this game.

I would've added coin runners regardless but that's not my main reason.. I would've added 5 more cities as battle tracks making 7/14 and 3 completely new ones. While having on battle course from each past game (yes including the shite Wii U versions) but if that's the case then MK8's tracks would've had to become retros.

I mean, SNES Donut Plains 3 and N64 Yoshi Valley are in Tour, and they were battle tracks in the Wii U MK8

you can tell they gave up because after the first months they stopped putting the battle stages twice in some of the cup selection with them repeating once and almost never at the weekly cups. I feel the worst part is that it kinda ruins some tour themes like vacation tour having twilight house, sundae tour having Battle course 1 and bowser tour having Cookie land

Also, even disregarding how unfitting it is to have MK8D music in Tour in the first place, of all the music from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe… why pick the actual worst one? 8 Deluxe has so much better music

What is really sad here is that it's only 5 battle course compared to the 500 or so race courses you maybe pissed at me for what I'm about to but I blame the bcp for not having many battle tracks thanks to the bcp Nintendo had to force mostly all the race courses In tour before being added to 8dx and don't give the bull crap of preserving because Nintendo doesn't care about that if they did they would have preserved a lot of other games and apps

They should have made N64 Yoshi Valley a battle track in Tour, that would have saved the battle mode

Lol N64 Yoshi Valley was a battle track… in the original Wii U version of Mario Kart 8
