I grew up in Darvel, used to go up Loudoun Hill all the time with it being only a mile outside of the village. Couldn't imagine trying to scale that volcano plug and still have the energy for combat

Additionally, they have a Wallace memorial at the bottom, not a Bruce memorial. Which is kinda of a shame considering who fought the battle.

Braveheart butchered this battle with scots running like maniacs against the english infantry, plus wearing kilts in a epoch when they shouldn't.
@gagasyogaswara4824 жыл бұрын
The battles in Braveheart are the battle of Stirling Bridge and Falkirk.
@jk284164 жыл бұрын
The Scots have worn kilts for a lot longer than is accurately documented. Magnus the 3rd, viking king of Norway and colonial occupier of the western Scottish Isles is known as 'Magnus Bar fut' meaning Magnus the bare legged, Norse chroniclers directly indicate that 'he wore the kilt, as the Scots do' . This was in 1070 AD, so that is independent evidence of Scottish kilt wearing long before the 1600 date, and probably indicates a long history before this date.

Loudoun Hill didn’t feature in Braveheart but you can see an accurate depiction of the battle in Outlaw King. Even though it’s a relatively small battle compared to others it’s absolutely epic to watch! Enjoy. 🏴
