The losers lose because they were outmaneuvered before the battle started , makes perfect sense to have us play as them instead. Ieyasu won before the fight began with his political maneuvering. It’d be less fun to come crashing down as ieyasu and having most of your enemy’s flanks leave or join your side. Brilliant stuff
@BlaidWhiteYo8 ай бұрын
Yeah in Napoleon they only flipped waterloo and again it was the only battle you could play as another faction than the french.

I think you can put your Yari ash near the Kobayakawa general before they betray you, though I'm not sure if it actually worth it since I got way too easily overwhelmed against the early cav attack (I'm bad at micro), and I don't really notice that much change in their morale though that one might just be me.

@Naraku-no-Hana-WE4 жыл бұрын
@@АлексейКозлов-щ4г Oops, didn't mean to delete my comment meant to edit it. But yeah, the battle is meant to be hard because the Oda ships are historically completely OP. the O atakabune also had cannon on top of emplacements for rifles, bows, firebombs, and iron plating to repel enemy fire. The Oda only lost two of their ships because the design was so completely over-the-top that they capsized them when they all focused on one side.
@АлексейКозлов-щ4г4 жыл бұрын
@UCtHXtqeMml__IVdUVbwwZZQ I agree, but this dumb still. Yeah, you can also put defense of deconstructed Osaka castle in 1615 - historically one-sided and, with all honesty, unbeatable. But would it this be fun? Dunno. This is the same situation here - accurate, but just not fun unless you like to suffer
@markeesmalamug47394 жыл бұрын
I hope this changes your perception of katana cav haha but seriously tho I had some impossible victories because of katana cav. An upgraded katana cav with some experience can go 1 on 1 vs katana sam. It can route katana sam with around 1-2 deaths only.

why didn't ca make the fight playable with the Tokugawa
@SilvaaFabio4 жыл бұрын
It would be to easy, after Kobayakkawa defects Mitsunari couldnt do anything, the Mori didnt move, all Ieasu had to do is keep on pushing a weaker and broken army.
@Naraku-no-Hana-WE4 жыл бұрын
@@SilvaaFabio given they what-if'd the Ishida side they could have done the same with Tokugawa. The battle was historically on a knifes edge for quite a while until Tokugawa ordered his men to fire over Kobayakawa's camp and spark the chain of defections. So just setup the battle so Kobayakawa makes up his mind and sides with the West instead.

@guardiadecivil67773 жыл бұрын
because the most famous battles are always about the historical losers, like in NTW, you fight as the french in the waterloo battle (although its possible to fight as the british but without the cutscenes). also it's more of a challenge for ishida since his generals were ready to backstab him at any moment
@ignacio11712 жыл бұрын
@@guardiadecivil6777 The difference with NTW is that the game is about following Napoleon and his battles. So it would be weird if you played as one of his generals for his most famous battles, and then somehow flipped in Waterloo. So the devs decided to make the final battle a "what if..." which I think is quite poetic since all the battles and campaigns you play to get there are the French ones, so you get a nice sweet ending.

I'm just wondering if there's a mechanic that allows us or the ai to betray allies in the battle since they can do this in this battle
@MrSmartDonkeyLP Жыл бұрын
They do it in this one because that’s what happened in the actual historical battle, would be kind of weird if they allowed you to just change every battle by betraying people when historically that didn’t happen.
@manfredd36 Жыл бұрын
@@MrSmartDonkeyLP but I heard in Medieval Total War you have the ability to betray allies in the battle.. Well if we want to talk about weird, commanding the western army to win is also weird since it didn't happen historically..
@MrSmartDonkeyLP Жыл бұрын
@@manfredd36 Ah, if that’s the case, maybe they just didn’t feel like adding it here, I still think it would be silly if they had that in historical battles which are meant to represent battles that actually happened.

@Naraku-no-Hana-WE4 жыл бұрын
Um, not really. Nearly everything that transpired at Sekigahara was directly the result of Mitsunari's actions. He provoked so many of the lord's, failed to foresee any consequences for his behavior. Many felt he had no qualifications to lead the Western army, some described him as a glorified accountant who received far too much favor from the Toyotomi family. The only men that stood by him had extraordinary reasons to do so, such as Otani Yoshitsugu (who was something of a badass in this battle).
