I love the lit adhesive for glitterliner and precise application. I don't apply it to the skin first though. I dip the wet brush directly into the glitter. That should make a difference compared to your tests since it dries with the glitter and is better mixed. For foiling pigments and chunky pressed shadows I use the essence glitterglue(or sometimes setting spray). It has a slight pink shimmer so you can see where you applied it. It lasts really well on my oily lids, if I use the right amount. I would be interested how the fyrrinae pixie epoxy compares since it seems like such an oldschool version of these products.

Thank you for reminding me of their company and name, because I've been meaning to get some glitter glue and I was trying to remember their name because theirs was really the best I remember ever using, and I've tried quite a few. The lit one is supposed to be applied wet with the glitters, that’s how they apply it when you meet them at IMATs and whenever they demonstrate their products. If you let the liquid dry first you’re not giving it a fair shot! The way they do it is they dip the brush in the liquid, then they dip the wet brush in the glitter and you apply and only then let it dry. It’s hurricane proof that way!

Thank you for reviewing these glitter adhesives! I loved seeing the varying glitter types being swatched. I’ve never had success with Nyx glitter glue myself; there was fall out by the end of the day. LIT cosmetics clear base, however, is always bulletproof in my experience. It’s meant to be used as an enamel/polish while wet. Mine came with a booklet that said to dip brush in liquid, then immediately dip in glitter and apply to skin/lid. It dries in about 5 seconds and feels like you have nail polish on your eyelid. It looks like the Anastasia one is similar, so maybe that’s why those two seemed ineffective. As always, love your videos! They are so informative and just plain fun! ❤️

The Lit adhesive is not meant to be applied, dry, and then have product applied like glitter glues. You dip a brush into the liquid base, wipe off any extra on the bottle, dip the wet brush into your glitter or pigment and then paint on the wet glitter mixture and let it dry. Kinda like acrylic nails, sorta.
@FacesByGina5 жыл бұрын
This is so interesting. I have the lit glitter glue, the too faced and the nyx. I use both the gel and the liquid for different things. Personally, I find the gels good for light glitter application and the liquid great for basically painting on glitter. Especially when I dip the brush in. The fact that it stays wet for a bit allows me to blend and feather the glitter out a bit, which is... fuckin awesome. haha. I also like dipping the brush in cause it basically eliminates fallout. The thing about the glitter glue gels that bugs me is that they disturb my shadow underneath a LOT more, cause you have to tap them on. There's also this narrow band of too much vs. too little product. If I put too little on, the glitter goes on patchy and then the places where the glitter doesn't go on looks like shit because the shadow's fucked up. But if I put too much on my eye feels crappy all day. With the lit glue, it's easy to go overboard with glitter but it doesn't feel different in terms of how it wears. So for myself, I prefer a liquid, but as a glitter lover, I would say having both formats is optimal. I also prefer the Nyx over the Too Faced XD, which I think is hilarious. If/when you guys do this again, I'd love to see a tap off test. To see what the disturbance is in terms of "normal" movement and fallout, as best as we can approximate it. Loved this so much, thank you for making it!

The lit one is amazing... I once swatched it with glitters on and ran it under water to take it off and every damn glitter came off like water! Not a single glitter left on my arm and it came off instantly without makeup wipes or remover. Its expensive but worth it if you use it alot. It also dosent feel sticky on the eyes.. has the consistency of contact solution and stays put for minimum 24hrs but probly longer. Worth it in my opinion.

so hard to watch this knowing the lit glue isn't supposed to dry first! Still enjoyed it but I wish you guys watched a tutorial on it because it's amazing

I've had great luck with the BH cosmetics glitter glue :) it's cheap and works very well! It just isn't completely clear if you put too much on over top eyeshadow

I live for my LIT glitter glue, but I always dip the brush in the adhesive and dip it in the glitter directly and work it to a paste almost and it's the best. That's how the LIT team showed me how to use it 😁

I use NYX with their glitter, but it isn't perfect. Now I have lemonhead glitter which I like much better. One of the properties to test it also how it behaves in a crease of skin, not just a flat skin.

Just to point out: Urban Decay, although not intended specifically for glitter, would preform much better if you didn't let it dry so long.

Lit Cosmetics Glitter Glue instructions are to dip the brush into the glue then dip into the product and apply. It does not get tacky as it sits. It's a great glue, but has a different method of application. Not ideal for sparse application.

Thanks for being a glitter fan, really great for us to hear all the feedback. You are right about the application process, but hey that is what makes makeup so much fun all the different methods. Glitter ON, and happy Halloween.

Your glitter glue is invincible! 😂 It has survived everything I have put it through. It just has a unique application compared to the others. Definitely great for glitter liner and pigments too. 🥰

THANK YOU ladies SOOOOO MUCH!!! This video was SO NEEDED as it has become glaringly apparent (at least to ME) that glitter is FINALLY getting its moment in the sun again (it’s always been MY favorite 😍) But I have had a tube of the Two Faced sitting in my bag for a couple months but I have been stuck using the NYX because it was familiar..,. I think it’s time to pull that Two Faced out of the darkness!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

you guys should do an eyeshadow primer version of this if u havent, and i suggest the p louise base as a contender!

Thanks for testing them with non-glittery shadows as well. I use the NYX one for any shadow with a metallic or duo chrome finish...not just glitter.

Thank you! I love videos like this! I’m definitely grabbing the NYX glue. I don’t wear glitter because of the fall out. Also don’t have the budget to just go out and buy different glues to test which one will work. The things I buy have to be an educated/researched purchase for me to buy them.

Sad to watch in 2022 and makeup revolution and too faced aren't still selling their primer. In my opinion, it's positive that they go away with a wipe! I want to be able to take something off at the end of the day

Also the Lit you have to let dry for a bit and you don’t soak the area just the most minute coating. It’s gotta get sticky so it grips more and then leave it once you’ve tapped glitter in so it fully dries. Slight user error there, but it is a dickish product to use but it doesn’t crack if done right and the glitter doesn’t transfer or fallout nearly as much as the cream ones.

If you ever do another round of this can you include Elf's glitter adhesive? I personally use that one and love it. Super efficient & really cheap.
@lapislazulilaura83065 жыл бұрын
You are not supposed to let the Lit one dry lol Just dip the tip of your brush into the liquid, and go into the loose Glitter right afterwards. Mix it a tiny bit on a palette and apply it. It holds up way better than any other glitter glue that way.

The abh adhesive is THE best glitter glue. Also mix your pigments or eyeshadows with it to creat eyeliner!

NYK Glitter Primer is the best - I even use mine with a small angle brush to do glitter liner etc. It really lasts a long time and makes all the glitters/shimmers/duochromes etc look amazing. I've tried Too Faced and didn't find it any different than NYK - so I stick with the $7 one :-)

yay! thank you girls! ive been patiently waiting for this since you guys mentioned it some time ago. now i know i will definitely be getting the nyx one. affordable, works almost as good as too faced which is a brand i dont really wanna support and costs about 3 times the price of the nyx one. also personally i just dont need it to be the best, just good enough to hold and show the shadows well. ♡♡♡

Fyrinnae pixie epoxy is amazing too! It's similar to the LIT one in that you mix it with the glitter & apply like liquid shadow

Really good trial of the glitter glues. Loved the colour shift amazing and beautiful. Thanks for all you two do for us. Great team. In a way I’d love to see others do the same thing as teams. Just really depends on where you live but the ladies are teaming up to provide accurate information and advice. Thanks again😊

Can you compare the Nyx glitter glue vs the Nyx pigment primer? What about inglot duraline vs the Nyx pigment primer? LIT also has a different adhesive. I remember Shaaanxo saying she definitely prefers one of the lit adhesives over the other.

This is the tea I needed I have the nyx one and never used it... I have like a pink Anastasia glitter and two of the nyx ones. I have primer potion too but never considered it as a proper base for glitter eyeshadows n stuff

Morphe calls their glitter adhesive “liquid sugar” and I hate the name so much I would never buy it. It just sounds like it would attract ants.

The Revolution beauty one only wiped away with paper towel bc the back & forth swiping got some of the crappy ones on it so it was actually the bad glues wiping away at the Revolution Beauty glue.
