Revisiting the Jato Revisit. EB Mods OS 18TM with HPI rotostart(small lite one way hex brg, TRA#4011). It fills the gap between the 3.3 and 21 offerings, and walks right away from them. Probably 30+ gallons across that motor since about 2006. It was raced in a literace Ballistic Chassis Revo for a very long time. I had to put 2 oz on the front of the Jato, for some semblance of control. Rest in peace Ed Bridges, your talents are missed greatly, something they will never know. Nitro burner since Team Associated took it's very first steps. Preheat your pullstart/Rotostart/Starter Box/ motor boys, and any miniature nitro motor in general, for all it's days. Wait till you see about 220° 230° on the temp gun before attempting to start,, for all it's life. Your welcome. Thank you for the vid, I spotted what I needed and had seen before.

I’ve bought a Jato or two for that price usually with a wreck that needs fixin but I take the opportunity to do the upgrades as well. The O.S. Will be smooth and more torque, even without gearing up for more speed it makes the truck more fun have the added grunt. The whole thing with engines running fast while having 5+ gallons through them is because the compression is low meaning the resistance in the engine is low which is why it can hit much higher RPMs but not have as much low end torque. If you ever heard the saying "it ran better than its best before it died", this is what it means. Usually those engines start to have tuning issues and eventually lose so much compression they arent usable.
@edrc17934 жыл бұрын

The Jato is known to have a borderline weak trans case. Especially when using anything stronger than stock engine. The alloy cases are very nice for sure. It would be a great upgrade for any truck. I have not had issues with the Revo case yet but if I did I would consider an alloy one for it also.

It has potential to be but needs extra work (gearing). I think the big gain is reliability.

Best engine for me was an OS .18tz. I put a MugenSeiki 1/8 onroad engine in it and it was just too powerful. Thise disc brakes were shreaded

Throw some JB weld at that servo
@edrc17934 жыл бұрын
JB weld is some tuff stuff! I ended up replacing it, that servo was stock. Response and brakes improved with the new one.

Or just get a new case for the servo like 3 bucks but jb works too lol

Back plate the OS. ENGINE AND BUMP BOX IT. YOU WILL GET 2,000 RMPS MORE.

Great tip, I should. Still gotta finish breaking it in too.

Im not impressed with the tm at all . maybe if i mod the crank and sleve she will fly because i know its a way better engine than a 3.3
@edrc17932 жыл бұрын
The Tm will run smoother and tune easier but yeah for the money you’d think it would spank the 3.3 and it really is not much different. Thanks for watching 👍
@kaycee93372 жыл бұрын
@@edrc1793 with a little modification it should haul ass. But mainly the TM is definitely more reliable and it will last four times more than the 33 if you don't take care of it especially but I guarantee you go through at least two three threes before you start losing compression on the TM

Good influence, you're not getting them hooked on drugs instead they are hooked on nitro R/C's 🤟

My 1/16 e-revo would smoke both of those on 2 - 2s lipos with a series two way connector with just regular brushless upgrade and rpm parts nothing big but damn she screams

All the power to you buddy! Have fun with your 1/16 erevo. I’m not a fan of the smaller cars but I’m sure they can be quick.
