T-maxx Tony drives the T-maxx's cousin, the Traxxas Jato 3.3. This is probably the worlds best factory made RTR stadium truck you could buy. It was first released in 2005 and has mostly remained unchanged to this day, other than engine, telemetry and exhaust improvements. The chassis itself has stayed the same. This is not just a traxxas rustler copy, it's a unique platform that is designed for high speed runs. hey man!! Yes, these are not terrific off-road unless you've got the right tires. Even then, it's really meant to be a road car. Although the other stadium trucks I showed in this video are known to be off-roaders, they probably are meant for light loose dirt and not heavy off-roading or jumping, you know!! Either way, the JATO is the shit!!! thanks for watching!!

@@hybrid32494 I had a Jato in 2007 and was in love with how predictably crazy it is. This is the RC equivalent to the craziest old school Lamborghini Diablo VT. This is only for true master drivers, the chassis lifts up at high speeds and quick starts and stock, no weights, the car will do 55MPH on two wheels. Sadly, I sold my beautiful RC collection to a close friend who was to enjoy it with sons, but he went through divorce and sold them to a pawn shop or something. 13 years later I wish I could get that Jato back. Now, I’ll have to settle for the modern version. For real, I watch this video every now and then. Found you because I searched for Jatos, I love all your videos, but this style is the one I love the most. Super fun! I bought two Jato's because of you, dialed them in nicely, one w/the dynamite .19, one with the 3.3. You were right the Hpi WR8 is on the slow side (but it can outmaneuver the Jato), when I drive it now I feel it needs to be modded! The Jato is one of the most fun vehicles, the break-in and tuning require some effort but it was worth it!!!

I have one which was my first Nitro. It’s a level 5 so I shouldn’t have but I learned a lot. I have replaced all the gearing to solid steel and a hardened steel clutch bell. Removed the slipper too. I get about 55 on gps. My sons Jato which is mostly stock has hit 72. They are fun cars.

hey fellow JATO owner!! Can you please tell me if you have the same issue with the brakes as mine has, I cannot make the brake any better because the brake cam hits the diff case in the back. Otherwise it's terrific. I have no doubt I can easily hit 65 with 30% nitro, I will attempt it soon.

The way I do it is I adjust the brake so the brakes are on a little while sitting there and if you know the system releases when you hit hit gas so whenever you hit the gas it'll release and whenever you brake it'll be a whole lot better, main problem with the jato is how the rear shock tower mounts I'm making a little support bracket to help stiffen the rear shock tower up, I just love running nitro you get all the looks

Love the Jato, although i don't have one. I wish Traxxas made a buggy version of that chassis. I love 2-wheel drive nitros, prefer it over 4-wheel drive, but 2-wheel drive nitro buggies are rare. I agree, most of my nitros other than the t-maxx are 2WD, and the 4WD models have been converted to just RWD setups. I think you would love a jato, especially the entire telemetry system which actually works and is fully installed.

For the brake.. I seen a rig up guy used spacers and a longer screw so the elbow/arm part will clear the obstruction allowing it to pull tighter.

hey buddy! I have since fixed the brake issue. It's beyond simple and It has to do with needing to rebuild the brakes fully. You need to simply remove the brake cam and resemble it without any slack in the disc brake system. IT has worked, it seems overtime the system just gets sloppy or the brake block in the system just does not move well.

My jato ran fine 2 nights ago now it won’t start. Looks like it won’t pull fuel to carb. I pulled line off and blew it out. I even tried blowing into it and still won’t pull. Any thoughts? Fuel line looks good.

hey buddy! This sounds like a typical case of the carb being closed up inside. You can overcome this by simply taking the fuel line off and blowing thru the fuel line and the carb's High Speed needle directly while opening throttle. Often times the oil will get gooey inside the carb itself and it just won't prime. Let me know.

hey man, I have the stock needle settings for you. The traxxas website says 4 turns out for the HSN and flush with the end of the slide housing for the LSN. here is a link. Let me know. hey buddy! Whats up. I've rebuilt the breaks and they now seem to work perfectly. It's something with the way the adjustment works, you need to fully remove the brake cam and just adjust it as tight as possible with the disc brake pads, you will notice the brakes become significantly better.

They are fast trucks about the brakes you can buy The Duel Disk setup it works great yes the stock brakes on the truck is the weak point. I remember driving mine when they hit second gear it did a wheelie coming past me. That was a good video

I WISH the electric 2wd rustler vxl was based off the Jato chassis and suspension. Its great and i love my Nitro Jato 3.3 2-speed! Sper fast and great handling plus bumps dont upset the chassis even at high speed under throttle. The only thing that could help with that is a sealed oil diff or a more simple Ball Diff to keep it small and light inside the Trans Case..

I have two issues with my Jato: 1- The amount of rear wheel toe in, no one even has made an aftermarket fix for that. It drives me crazy! 2- If course the brakes. The do make an aftermarket brake kit that is extremely efficient and effective, yet nearly impossible to find.

That's one benefit to living in a bigger City is apps like letgo man 👍 I love in the biggest "city" in Montana and there's like 2 rc related things on letgo or Craigslist per month lol rediculas! hey man!! You def need the weights, otherwise after about 40 MPH the front is going to lift off. I think this video gave you alot of good info on the jato, and I didn't;t even cover the terrific Traxxas link app with the live telemetry. That can be it's own video, it's so fully functional. It can give you speed, temp, RPM and can log and store your runs.

Says it's top speed is claimed at 60+, so the Jato is still faster it seems, based on their advertised speed of 65+ as claimed. I will try to find one of those in the future, would be interesting. for real!!! Although that Chassis on the losi looks not much different than my old LOSI XXX-nt, pretty similar. The JATO is like a straight nitro work of art, and I didn't even cover the terrific built in telemetry system. Pretty accurate I tested it off camera and the top speeds are about 4 MPH different from the GPS unit. Although mine uses a magnet in the spur for speed and not the GPS module.

hey buddy! The one in this video is a GoPro Session 4, it is not longer sold. I have since upgraded to a Hero 7 silver, but the session is smaller. Both have their advantages. You can pick up a hero session used like I did on ebay for like 80-100 bucks normally.

I've got a hpi trophy truggy with LRP 30 spec 2 engine all savox servos and tyres pipe etc I got over 50mph on my friends speed gun could have gone faster but all the diffs exploded I've put the hpi flux hardened steel diffs in and changed the gearing so I'll be taking her out in the new year when the weather is better here in Blackpool England I can't wait to see how fast it goes then it got to over 50mph before on standard gearing and it got there very quickly great videos I love the jato 3.3 I've had a traxxas T maxx with Pro 15 then I got the T maxx 3.3 and a revo 3.3 I've got a old cen nitro mini with 2 speed baby

hey bro! I zoomed in on your profile pix and it looks like you have the brake cam arm flipped to the other side, am I right? Let me tell you this, I removed the entire brake mechanism and out it back together, and now somehow the brakes are fine. Weird. I think your solution is good, I will try it again soon. thank you!!

@@hybrid32494 i just got a new orange jato and it came out of the box weak braking. I didnt figure there was anything to fix/adjust in the mechanism just flawed design but i could be wrong worse things have happened. Yeah that what i did with the brake cam rocker arm. It rides on two bushings so its simple to remove unhook the linkages flip it around and get it to push and not pull. Hopefully this week ill get to run i doubt theyll lock but ill let you know if it holds up.

@@hybrid32494 put a quick half quart threw it, no burn damage an both tires lock from about 20mph even with the steel brake pads not adjusted right. I didnt think itd hold up like it did. Give it a try next time

Hey buddy. I know this is an older video, and not sure if you fixed the brake issue yet...? However I thought I'd try to help you if I can. So I've looked at several pictures of the arm and linkages online. From what I see the arm itself should be about 5mm or so further out from where it is. So I would remove the nut on top, pull the arm up and re-situate it (clock it) a bit further out. Then tighten the nut back down and pop the ball link off and extend it by screwing it back to compensate for the arms new and correct position. Shouldn't hit anymore. Now if you have already done this and couldn't get that to work I also noticed that the newer versions of that arm seem to be slightly curved. Perhaps Traxxas fixed that issue later on... IDK? Just trying to help ya brother Man. Good luck! Later...

hey man, thanks for the your suggestions and search. Let me give you an update, I've exactly as you said about 3 times so far, and the brakes are identical. I have another Jato 3.3 and it's also got the brake arm in the same position. I have tried to seat the brake arm a little further out, but it's not possible. The brake cam itself is keyed so only allow the plastic piece to attach in one direction. So I have hit a dead end. My only option is to look for an aluminum upgraded piece, of course they are expensive, go figure. I have even looked at exploded parts views of the entire brake setup, and mine seem normal.

@@hybrid32494 OK. What about trying to get the inner plate/brake pad closer to the piece that pushes against it that the notch / cam on the shaft pushes on to squeeze the brake. That might actually take up the "slack" and in turn move the arm out enough... If it's similar to a T-Maxx I know that this has helped me in the past. I'm really just spit balling here. I hope you figure it out somehow and without me seeing it in person I can't come up with any better suggestions. Usually I can come up with some kind of solution but im not there ya know... just wanted to try and help a Nitro Brother out if I could.

I had issues out the box as the car would either wheelie or spin once it changed into 2nd (I’m a beginner) Read the manual and noticed you can change the change point so I set it up to change into 2nd early. Slowed it down but was SO much easier to control! Great little car if a bit fragile, I broke a transmission mount twice (full strip down) so bought a steel brace which fixed it.

I got speed 93km/h with stock engine. The fuel was nitro 25%.

whats up man!! thanks pretty fast, a little faster than mine. So I'd say we are about even, If I ran 25% nitro I would more than likely get the same results as you did. Only other issue is that I was running the speed meter on the front, which I would say killed maybe 1-2 MPH due to extra air resistance. I know when I strap a Go Pro on top of it, it costs me about 3 MPH.

hey man! The main reason is the gearing, the JATO gearing is very high. IF you look at the clutch bell you will notice it's substantially taller (more teeth) than any monster truck's clutch bell. Since the Jato is much lighter than a t-maxx it can pull much higher gearing.
