Thank you for this video. I have oily lids too and just stick to liquid eyeliners even though I wish I could use the softer pencil eyeliners. Could you please do a vid on your favorite liquid eyeliners and secrets on how for it not to look too harsh for someone 40+ ?

Oh, same situation as me! 😊 I actually used just one liquid eyeliner with polymer, which doesn't smudge; Estée Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Eyeliner, which is discontinued. I really need to search for the next one now, and I'll let you know, if I find something works. I'm over 50, and I apply it just between my lashes. This way it looks most natural, I think. Hello Jia! It's not easy to find pencil eyeliner that is smudge free and long lasting especially for hooded eyes. The estee lauder doublewear eyeliner is one of my favorites along with nars and charlotte tilbury. Love how detailed the comparison of each product. Have a great weekend.

To be honest, I stopped to use eyeliners for upper lids all together. When I really need one, I still use the old Estée Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Liquid Eyeliner, which is discontinued. I also tried a tubing mascara (which contains polymer) as an eyeliner using a fine brush. That worked as well. Someday I'll start again to search for a replacement!

Yes! There's so many versions of "black" eyeliners. Sad to hear they all smudged! I've been loving ink liners with brush tips lately, because they smudge less on me and I always feel like I'm wasting product when I have to sharpen pencils haha.

Hi Jia! I am in rhe same jorney... For me neither Mac nor UD were smugde free. The only one I liked it so far is the Shiseido microliner, but I got in brown. The only con was that the it brakes a lot and it has a small cuantity of product. So it lasted only 2 months aprox. Nevertheless, I ordered it again, but now in black.

Hi Jia. Have you ever tried Shiseido MicroLiner Ink pencil eyeliner? I'm not sure if it's oil resistant but at least it's free of oil and contains polymer (according to the list of ingredients).

I'm surprised Urban Decay's eyeliner in Perversion didn't stay put for you! The trick is to remove ALL oil from your eyelid before applying it and then it should stay put. I use a cotton q-tip with rubbing alcohol and run it across the lashline and then start going in with the liner. Hope this helped!

@@BalletPink The Urban Decay Perversion doesn't work for me either :( It smudges and travels on my oily eyelids and down my cheeks. Same problem with MAC and Clinique and pretty much every other eyeliner from high end to drugstore, until I found Marc Jacobs Gel Highliners which became my Holy Grail because they do NOT budge, they don't transfer onto my hooded, oily lids and that's WITHOUT any primer! So I am beyond sad to hear rumors that Marc Jacobs is discontinuing them

@@BalletPink You are welcome 🥰 If you buy the Marc Jacobs Gel Highliners, don’t buy the ones from Sephora because Sephora sold me the expired ones manufactured in 2016! I returned those and bought directly from Marc Jacobs website and got ones manufactured in 2020 and 2019. I love that Marc Jacobs stamps date of manufacture codes on their products so we know if we are buying products that were sitting on the shelves for 5-6 years. Even unopened products, especially liquids and creamy ones, expire within 2-3 years of being manufactured. They may not smell bad but their texture changes. The Marc Jacobs gel highliners are very creamy and glide so easily on the eyes that they don’t tug or pull on the eyelids. And you have 10 seconds before they set if you want to spread them on the eyes as cream base. I am not sure if you already know this but you can use the beauty date code checking apps to check the dates of your Bobbi Brown and MAC eyeliners too.

I understand your frustration! As I said in the video, if you also have oily lids, the combination of NARS primer and Bobbi Brown eyeliner worked on me. Those tubing mascaras don't smear either. Hope this helps... 😊💕
