Battle of the ROCK RACERS! Losi Rock Rey VS Redcat Wendigo

In this video we take a look at two epic RC Rock Racers. Are they any good at crawling? Are they any good at bashing? We test them on the rocks, around the racetrack and jump them into the mud. There might even be some backflips for good measure. We love the Losi Rock Rey and Redcat Wendigo. Which one is your favorite?

Pre-ordered one at 3am from the first batch. Still waiting, and Amain says to expect it in May 🤣 Axles are weak AF, the kit does nothing to address it, and comes with a suggested 2-speed

Great video! I've got a rock Rey. I have put axial beadlocks on it (a bit wider now), SD third member with larger bearing, SD front diff housing, Losi steering rack and servo mount, and fast metal gear servo. Runs great but I only use 2s in mine. 3s just seems "wrong" LOL. It steers tighter than any RC I've ever had! Loves rough surfaces and looks cool going over it!

me too i just realized the lmt doesn't have the monster truck cage that stays on chassis. It's also kind of a fatso. I know someone who has both and he broke the lmt on the first outing. Then again, it is brushless.

I vote Axial. Huge aftermarket, and I think it looks cooler. You can always go brushless later.

Picked up a used rock Rey kit/roller with a castle 1415 in it. Just got my mamba monster 8s esc in it and this thing is freaking WILD. I’m hitting over 40mph on 2s. I haven’t had the courage to try 3s yet. And the motor can handle up to 4s 😳

Can you please tell me what is the stock remote that comes with the Losi Rock Rey? I just got one bone stock brand new but it did not come with the remote and id like for all of its features to work simply because it is a gift for my wife and she loves it but she is bummed that she has not been able to run it. I have asked on other youtube channels but no one has answered.

I have both. Comparing them is like comparing a 4400 class Losi to the 4600 class Redcat. Reliability in the Losi...... just a tough truck. Customer service with the redcat.........

My Wendigo is living a much better life as a crawler with a brushed crawler setup (Holmes crawlmaster sport 13t with a Holmes BR-XL ESC and 9tooth pinion)

Well, now the Rock Rey is not an option. What the hell. Wendigo seems to be the only game in town. I think it'll be my first kit. I'm gonna def put the AXE system in it, after seeing the versatility West Desert Wheeler got out of that combo!

I wanted an indigo but now maybe not. Between the two i’d pick Losi because the material used should be more durable. But price factors weren’t spoken of in this video and Losi isn’t known for affordability especially with what this one was built with.

I love my rock Rey like crazy. And I love my red at gen 8. I have been wondering how the wendigo stacks up against the rock Rey. And now I’m wondering if I can turn my second gen 8 pack into a wendigo

The wendy doesn’t have portal axels, and the wheels/ tires are huge!!! It’s possible, but probably expensive to get all the suspension bits.

Already got a Wendigo is great looking but as for durability it's got issues...a bit of a identity crisis if you ask me is supposed to be a rock racer but isn't, it's not a crawer either it is for just tooling around your yard ...when I first got it was advertised 2s and 3s capable but look now it's only rated as 2s ...strang to me ...but I keep sinking money in it in Hope's it will survive. Cant wait until the Ryft axles are in stock I then can fix it for good....

I’ve only ever run mine on 3S and I got it the day it came out. I lost a steering servo and a tire came off the wheel. That’s it so far. Maybe I’m lucky.

@@10thScaleGarage I beat the living crap out of my Wendigo with a hopped up Castle Creations motor and ESC, and aside from chewing through the plastic gears that have since been replaced with the metal ones and breaking the front bumper running into a post, the thing has been rock solid and fun as hell.

Ya this is the kind of "Average Bashing" I imagined these kinds of trucks would be good at. Need the Arrma Big Rock or similar standard basher to really go any bigger on the jumps. Its so weird how so many people get rock racers and expect them to run like Rich Buperbash lol

After the video, the Losi cage broke in two places, the Wendigo had a tire come off the rim in one place. After I let it chill for a bit, the Wendigo started right up.

Almost every time I get out my rock rey it breaks. Spin the bearings in the front and the diff cups break. Its a shelf queen now. Wish i never bought the rock rey.
