Doesn't Robben Ford use these sliding M6 to b7 and sliding b3 to M3? Robben Ford uses the 1-2-3-5-b7 = outlines a Dom9th chord tonality. Listen to a lot of Robben Ford albums to make lick lessons about it

I saw Robben Ford in London a couple of weeks ago! Fabulous gig! Been a big fan for a while. Such a seasoned player. Robben Ford does a bit of everything so will certainly do the ideas you mentioned. He is also very well known for his use of the diminished scale. Which is def something i'll look at in the near future.
