I believe this game was created after the devs daughter watched her father play ghouls and ghosts and asked if a princess could play as the lead. He then went away and created this game with his daughter (called Madelyn) as the main protagonist.

@@bryanedds8922 while it is a spiritual successor to GNG it's still an original game. The creator also made the game for his daughter who was the inspiration for the main character, story, etc. So she pretty has her own game.

I noticed you talked about "having lives" while playing. When you die, you're actually revived by your ghost dog as long as it has enough magic (the upper right meter) left.

Hey Radical I recommend you to get the Gbros adapter for the Switch. I use the Wii Pro controller excelent dpad with it, and with it you will stop having these problems. I think your hands are too big for the Joycons mate.

They borrowed ALLOT of stuff from other arcade titles like black tiger-dragon with those snakes in the floating logs,the pattern also used was the arcade version of the second ghost & goblins by capcom,and the music has more the arcade feel than a home console version game.It is done pretty smooth and well made to be playable since the older ghost & goblins games were close like playing dark freaking souls! In general i will try it out looks really addictive in many ways,cool play review people i enjoyed it allot!

As a fan of Super Ghouls n Ghost, being the first SNES game i bought with my own money back in the day I gotta say this looks really good, well done. I loved the challenge of the original, that a harder thing to get right like MetalJesus was saying, the style can be copied easily but a lot more went into that, like level design, gameplay, etc. But now it just has me now longing for a modern version of the original honestly. With 3d models, still side scrolling, but with amped up 3d effects, new weapons, monsters and maybe some new gameplay element, rpg maybe? Cool game, thanks for sharing.

Great recommend game! I instantly bought it and played the story mode. This is like a sprawling metroidvania type of mode, I wish you could customise the default controls as I play on an arcade stick. But a solid game, the longevity is in the story mode.

Two things: Aggelos and Venture Kid. They are both on Switch, and are VERY inspired by Wonder Boy and Mega Man, respectively. They might not be the longest games out there, but they are both brilliant, and well worth checking out. (and yes, I know Aggelos sound stupid, but as far as I know, it means angel, and refers to a sword in the game.)
