Watching the basketball scenes with the whole class cheering and having fun, and then hearing the ending song with their class picture made me cry, it truly did. It makes you realize how the students were just kids, having fun, going through their youth, just beginning their lives, and in the span of a few days, they were pushed to the edge thanks to a cruel government that they had no say in. In the end, all of that was gone.

@@bartdude82 Black and white is often used in order to show that something is old, like a memory, and not the present. This is the class before it all went down, so like a memory of old, combined with a song about how life simply goes on, and the old days might not have been so bad despite its flaws. Showing a normal high school class compared to what we are left with afterwards, which is basically everyone dead.

Shizuka na Hibi no Kaidan wo The stair steps of a quiet day Album / Collection: Lily of da Valley Track # 12 Description: Battle Royale ED Performed by: Dragon Ash Grass and trees become green, flowers colorfully bloom. Seasons come by again. A comfortable spring day, With out anything to do I think by myself in the tree lined street. The days go by without any break. I am struggling to manage myself here. Sometimes, let's live a life Without thinking so deeply. Morning comes, the sun rises again. Outside the window the south wind blows the pain in my heart. Shall the tears I shed in the past days be pulled into my unconsciousness. what is important is the light, I'd like to stay here a bit more. Like that, goes away ONE WEEK. With my tired body I take ONE DRINK At the meeting place my friends are all there. like every day we spend the night chatting nonsense to continue on with these days I flap my wings like a bird. Everyone is doing their best. Don't lose; we don't have a pinch runner. Going over the people laughing at you, catch the dream you imagined into your hands. Wish to the shooting star after the rain. Now stand up my friend. WE GO EVERY DAY ikou emi de hikari no terashi dasu hou ni hirakareta mirai mezasu you ni WE GO EVERY DAY ikou emi de kabin ni mizuwo sasuyouni negaiyo kanaimasuyouni WE GO EVERY DAY, let's go with laughter To the direction of the shining light heading into the open future ahead. In the far back of the noise can't you hear the voice of the wind drifting away now where and why. Obvious though, I listen on. Like putting your own future over it. Wanting something to be said about my self, is the same feeling. My life goes away bit by bit. Now I possess multiple copies of my childhood dreams. I make a stupid face as I brush my teeth in front of the mirror in the morning. Going outside. I live a day like this. I'll stop waiting for the night. Resting isn't bad, charge up your energy. quietly the city ticks away time. Connecting our dreams, we make an arch. When I heard this song at the end...it made me so sad yet calm considering what happened to a class filled with close friends (besides Mitsuko unfortunately) - showing how trust is such a sensitive issue. I need to watch this movie again, with a close friend though because this is definitely one of those movies. Beautiful!

Lyric Plants and trees are green, flowers are in full bloom, and colors abound The seasons are turning again and it's a mild spring day I have nothing to do but just think of the tree-lined avenue, alone now Everyday life passes without a half-time I'm just trying to make ends meet I'm just trying to get by Sometimes I don't give a damn what I'm doing The morning is coming, still the same, still the sun will rise again I'll do it all over again Outside the window, the south wind washes away the pain in my heart Tears of days gone by, time will soon take me away in unconsciousness If time takes me away in unconsciousness All that matters is the light I just want to stay here a little longer We go every day with a smile To the one the light shines on, to the future that's open to us We go every day with a smile May your dreams come true This unseasonal rain blurs the expression and its tears Gerra before it stops falling Gerra before it stops falling One week, one week, one week, one week One drink, one drink, one drink, one drink, one drink, one drink The destination is our friends, and as usual, we talk foolishly through the night As if these days will never end Like a bird spreading its wings and flapping its wings Everybody's trying so hard, don't lose, there ain't no pinch runners With those who mock us laughing in the face, we grab the dream we've drawn and hold it in our hands A shooting star after the rain, I'm praying for you, come on up, comrades! We go every day with a smile We go every day with a smile We go every day with a smile May your dreams come true, like water in a flower bottle Somehow, I turned off my cell phone and listened to the hustle and bustle of the world. I can hear the wind, it's drifting away, now where is it going? I'm listening to it as if I'm lonesome Overlapping my future I want you to say something to me, I feel the same way The irreplaceable life that I'm wearing down I dream of my childhood and I dream of the morning in front of the mirror with my toothbrush When I brush my teeth in front of the mirror I'm leaving the house, living day after day I don't want to wait for the night anymore, I don't care if I rest, I just want to build up my strength The town where time ticks by quietly, the arch that we connect with our dreams The stairs of quiet days... Under the sky where the wind has died down, tomorrow we'll grab it with our own hands On the stairs of quiet days... DeepLで翻訳しました (www.deepl.com/app/?

One of the most perfect movies ever made & this song was just great after they leave to run for their lives at the end.

This song is so painfully sad it makes you want to break down and cry. Dragon Ash = best band in Japan.

It's mid year in 2019 and i came back here just to listen this song again and it's so nostalgic. I don't know what to feel, sad or joy. I wish Japan will have remake of this movie and make it even better.

Jeese...you guys definitely know the feeling I had when I watched the end and listened to the song at the same time...right? Bittersweet. *SPOILERS* (But don't know why you'd be here if you haven't seen the movie completely) I felt happy that the two survived at the end...but gosh remembering all those deaths and how the students who really were such great friends just got slaughtered like that was just tough to suck in. It truly was quite an emotional and breathtaking experience.

Kazuo Kiriyama should have won, I bet most of you guys haven't read the manga yet, he was so beast probably unkillable since he had high pain tolerance, it's so mainstream I mean obviously the guy who always wants to help and want to save people survive when normally in the reality, only the strongest survive and the strongest was definetely Kiriyama.

I've never read the manga so I don't know who wins in the manga so i'm just going off of the movie. He was a tough guy but high pain tolerance or not you get your head literally blown up then you die.

You know in the book Kazuo flipped a coin between taking on Sakamochi (Kitano) and fighting other students. One can only wonder if anyone would have even died besides the first two students had Kazuo just unloaded his firepower on the school with the kids supporting him instead of fighting in the Program.

I think either Mitsuko or Kiriyama should have won. Its BS that Noriko and Shuya get to live, they were just lucky.

This movie, picture, and song were all sad and happy. So many groups and students forced to massacre each other. And I felt so fucking sorry for Mitsuko. She had a shitty life and she could have had a better experience afterwards but she didn’t make it. Her death kinda made me tear up. She just wanted better. :(

You can like Battle Royale, for the frighteningly real description of turning friends on friends when faced with a death threating situation; or you can dig Hunger Games for a more lighthearted take on the whole concept. In my opinion, the two movies emit a whole different atmosphere. Especially if you read the Battle Royale novel (which I highly recommend to anyone who loves the movie! It's really a whole notch darker and unsettling as the movie; really well written as well!).
