One of my best friends cut My locs for me before I started chemo. I kept them just in case I want to reattach them. I still haven’t decided yet…still rocking my short hair…it’s short because I keep it cut and I dyed it blonde 💕

I’m so sorry this is happening to you. You are beautiful with or without hair. I stumbled on this video because I was looking for loc reattachment videos and I was shocked to hear at the start of the video that you were cutting your beautiful locs off. Once I heard the reason, I had to reply. So brave of you to be proactive and cut them off to prepare and to share what must be so painful on lots of levels. You are one strong lady. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2022. I had surgery and because of the rare nature of my cancer, I had to undergo chemotherapy and brachytherapy (internal radiation). My locs were 3 years old and I was hopeful that I was going to be a unicorn and I could keep them intact. Two weeks after my first chemo infusion I learned that I was wrong so I went into the bathroom and cut them off and saved them in a ziplock bag. I completed all treatment in September 2022 and now, almost exactly 1 year later I’ve scheduled my appointment to have them reattached. Sending hugs and love and prayers for quick healing.
