Well I mean technically someone at some point is going to draw slowly capsizing. It's in the deck, so no matter what one of the ships is going to get it and sink when the deck is reshuffled. If it's exactly as they described it's actually better to get it as your first card, because that means you're not getting something that causes immediate damage. Make sense?

And why would sailing into the wind mean you have to go a minimum speed of 6??? I just don't get this game.

That's actually a thing - while they're a smaller target, shooting at something moving laterally with slow naval fire is extremely hard. If they're moving directly at you, it's much easier.

M8 in the nepoleonic era "raking" a ship was a huge deal, because as your cannonballs penetrated through the front of the ship they carried through smashing much more wood and therefore creating more splinters which were the real danger to crew, much more so then actually being struck by a cannonball, so in short yes, its an easier and much much more effective strike to either the front or rear of the ship rather than the broadsides

I personally have to admit that I'm fine with it; I always imagined magic was the great equalizer in this setting anyways, since the warp-fueled magic doesn't play by the rules of the physical universe anyways. Also this is the only reason I can explain why the High Elf's main ship to ship, the ballistae, are even competitive in this setting and not just a joke weapon.

This is damn entertaining to watch but man the game seems awful haha, a random card draw almost destroys a ship before it even starts and then the very first shot does one damage that chain reacts to 3 additional and gets a permanent chance to blow up at any second.

It should be noted that the vast majority of the damage cards can be repaired with the repair order, unless they say otherwise. They also made a few mistakes about the rules and how the cards worked, as well as missing some of the ships abilities.

The tomb kings were a very neutral faction. In the army books they were neutral allies, like the ogres, who were Mercenaries. Tomb kings were varied from tomb king to tomb king. Some may have had more of an evil intent while others good. They were shuffled off to the forces of chaos in the end times because GW bended and bullshited some of their lore.

KingBobbito You're correct. And, frankly Arkhan still saw vampires as inferior to himself as far as I remember. As did Nagesh considering vampires pretty much come from an eternal life potion he didn't finish or something like that.

For the first draw of the fate deck, Dread fleet refers to the "Bad guys" ships, the ships that lewis's side are using are the Grand Alliance ships and would be unaffected. Edit: for spelling

Oh, they're playing more games from back when the Fantasy universe existed and a crappy 40k lite with less units and a horribly ungrounded storyline didn't. Perfect! EDIT: If you can get it in play some Man O War. I've heard it's better and you guys (or at least Tom) seem to agree. Plus I'd like to see how it worked and what kind of ships existed in it, I'm curious as I am unlikely to ever be able to play a game of it myself. EDIT EDIT: I just had to say, Tomb Kings aren't all bad. It's just that the super bad dude Nagesh won in the end despite being foweled by much less then what was thrown at him in the end times before... Like most races that "won" frankly. The end times were mostly made up of horrible writing and plot armour. Oh and on a disconnected note, as you suggested despite being one of the smallest ships the Dwarf ship would probably win here. The mechanical squid is probably the closest to its power level in that it's also metal and therefore might actually stand a chance against what is esentially a sea based tank. And even if the squid won then it'd just be Chaos Dwarves winning instead of regular ones...
