Canada you can no scope with it but it’s not consistent. They should have given it better hip fire since it doesn’t have a sweet spot. Still fun to use, if I play scout this is the rifle I usually use.

Christopher Lopez gun is extremely OP, on console due to the sheer amount of auto aim assist you can literally quick scope people across the map. On pc I am not sure, but for me on console I'm usually on top pushing 4+ KD and in verdin heights I easily crush 70+ kills a match using this gun.

This weapon and the enfield are perfect for aggressive scout. If you get good enough and start hitting people at Gewehr 98 ranges, you'll have a small advantage since you won't have sniper's glint and youll just murder people who just stay scoped and don't pay attention. Scouts with carbines or infantry rifles and spot flares are probably the most useful class in the game.

Thank you! This ^ Aggressive scouts are just straight lethal in his game. Carbines have no sniper glare so they can just straight murder guys at close / medium/ long range. It’s fairly easy with this absolute legend of a gun. The spotting flares are so useful in this game it’s ridiculous. The Scout class in battlefield 1 is the only time I’ve ever focused solely on being the best sniper I can be.

I have one as well and don't understand where Battlefield gets its damage figures from. I reload my own cartridges and the 8x56R that this gun uses has the same ballistics as the 8mm Mauser used in the Gewehr 98 rifles and K98. I love mine. It does kick like a mule though and is not very pleasant to shoot in real life. It will batter your shoulder pretty good

Relative advantages of the infantry variant over the carbine variant? The three main ones, I think, are: 1.) quicker recovery from recoil (including from hipfire); 2.) quicker recovery of relative accuracy (including hipfire); and 3.) greater resistance to the effects of suppression. Otherwise, the carbine variant is arguably superior to the infantry variant, in an overall sense, as the carbine variant has a slightly zoomed optical lens, superior hipfire accuracy, and superior ADS accuracy whilst on the move, relative to the infantry variant.

You're giving a rifle that has the best range and accuracy the capability to one hit someone at long range meanwhile they have a rifle that requires at 3 or more shots to kill you. And the maps in Battlefield are large so the sniper obviously has the upper hand.

I was playing Amiens with it and I had this nice three kill streak where two players were smacking each other and I bashed one of their skull's in. The other guy ran away but I eventually shot him and then a medic came to revive him and I shot him.

I love the carbine version however I find the red dot site too small and hard to see, and the ring recticle site too big. I don't like the other site options. I end up using the ring and it's good if not beyond the 70m of its range. The 5 round magazine sucks too but just pick your shots. I've gotten many one hit kills at far and close range. Fast fire rate and you can stay scoped... it's my favorite scout gun.

I really like using this rifle. I'm new to BF1 but it plays like a sniper would in BF4 with the exception of no 1 hit kills in close quarters like you can with all rifles in BF4.

I'd like to point out something odd about the two scout carbines (M.95 and SMLE). They have optic sights and characteristics like many of the "optical" variants for other classes - however the scout carbines are MUCH slower to ADS (Aim Down Sights) relative to the ironsight variants than ALL the other "optical" variant weapons in the game. In fact, they're slower to ADS than their own Marksman versions, which have a telescopic sight, which makes absolutely no sense. Carbines are shortened infantry rifles, sacrificing barrel length (and thus to some extent accuracy) for mobility. The optic sights are basically a 1900s red dot sight. With these two factors in mind, it can see no reason for them having such a bad ADS time. Ironsight versus optical for other classes is virtually indistinguishable (1-2 frames), while its very noticeable (4-5 frames) on these two weapons. I don't understand the "balancing" reason for this - the infantry and marksman variants have enough upsides in their own. I will keep ranting about this til DICE fix it :P

I noticed infantry has better ADS but I like the carbine version because that medium scope is just so dam useful for most situations on battlefield. The long range scope really limits your versatility at close range but he carbine scope allows you to take out targets at lib range & close. The infantry version was one of my most used till I noticed the carbine gives me just a bit more range for those clutch headshots.

You miss it's most important quality because it does a min of 79 damage every hit on a guy is a possible counts as kill since you get a counts as at 75 damage so nobody will ever steal your kill again and even thow there is no sweet spot many of the other snipers don't offer counts as outside of there sweet spot making it the best gun for a squad player that wants to be a scout

This point is huge. All you have to do is hit a guy & it gives you the kill because it does 79 % damage. Even if some one else finishes him off the kill will go to you which is huge as not many other guns give you that ability on one shot.

I'd actually hold off using the Martini a bunch until the Martini Sniper variant drops from the CTE since it takes 300 kills from the regular Martini to unlock. When a scout rifle is zeroed for a certain range it means that the bullet is going to hit exactly in the center of where you're aiming at the range it's zeroed for. If you're closer it may shoot a bit above or if your farther away it will drop lower so you would either need to zero to another distance or adjust your aim accordingly. The three distances you can zero most sniper rifles to is 75m, 150m, and 300m. Keep in mind that every time you die you will need to re-zero in your rifle and the default is always 75m. Some guns like carbines are not able to zero to 150m or 300m as well. Hope this helps.
