I really hope they buff this weapon somehow. For the Lewis gun being the starting support class weapon, it's very underwhelming if you give it to a player that's new to the game.

They kinda buffed all the support weapons with the last update by lowering their first shot recoil even more. They are trying to get more players to use the support class because apparently it's the least played class in BF1.

Demon50 It really is. The onlu things that are really outstanding about the class are the MG15 with its dominant ammo capacity and the mortar which is even easier to use than Battlefield 4's mortar.

Stealthygunner X actually right now the support class is fucking amazing. I get multi kills all the time with the crossbow launcher and you can completely destroy with the Lewis gun, i am reliably top of the leader boards every game playing as support.

In reality, 303 British rounds were still considered weak compared to the 11mm bullets used by the forner Martini-Henry. The 303 was so weak that the dum-dum bullet was invented to increase the power of this round.

I use the suppressive varient. I use shoot until I know what I am shooting at is dead. Plus that bipod allows me to lay down tons of fire on snipers

The suppressive is the best variant for the Lewis Gun in my opinion because it's a suppresive class so the variant does what most gun in that class are meant to do best, only better. I understand the need for guns with different stats though like the madsen as you do need hybrid-like guns that can suppress better than the other classes weapons but not as good as something like the lewis gun, because it trades damage for that, which will make it work better in different situations on different maps. BF4 had much more customization, but never had it meant as much as in BF1, making BF1, in my opinion, more customizable because the customization matters much more.

Suppressive version is awesome, as long as you are either laying down or shooting out of a window or a off a ledge it shreds the enemy up. Just went 21-1 with it and I suck at this game, I usually have higher deaths then kills lol.

Does it recover 67% faster or does it take 67% less time? You say 67% faster at 4:55 and 67% less time/200% faster at 5:06. Many people on youtube mix up speed and time reduction while they are not the same thing. A 100% speed increase equals a 50% time reduction.

+KR BLACK The low weight variant recovers 67% faster from recoil (10.002 opposed to 6) and it also recovers 200% quicker from hipfire spread (32.4 as opposed to 10.8)

I actually like the lewis gun as a general purpose LMG, its rate of fire gives it great control and lets you pepper enemies with a bipod plus the rate of fire gives a good guestimate of when to stop firing and reload before firing off the last bullet then go through a lengthy cycle, plus its one of hte few LMGs i think i never seen it over heat, atleast BF5 LMGs and MMGs will have a heating meter

Ebola-chan Ye, but the main perk of the gun is still useless. You're better of with the suppressive version which gives a clear sight picture (if you put magnification to the lowest setting), better aimed accuracy, double the magazine size and a bipod.

The Lewis gun is very slow to kill and needs a lot of bullets to drop someone. That's why on close range the gun preforms poorly your more likely to get killed
