KriticalKris telescopic used to be far better than snipers but now it just takes 3 or more snipers and your toast, pre patch I killed over 8 snipers in 2 minutes who if not all most were concentrating on just me

This gun kinds reminds me of the U-100 MK5 back from Battlefield 4. It felt underpowered at normal gunfights, but it's very good at longer ranges. Nobody really say that, and most people never liked that LMG.

at the current state of the game, this is my favorite LMG and the Storm is my preferred setup thanks to its forgiving recoil and low damage dropoff. I can easily hold down the fire button and track moving targets at range. Switching from the Lewis Gun to this felt great, because the Lewis Gun's damage drops off more at distance compared to the Benét-Mercié

It seems to me as though the BM and Madsen were given the wrong stats. To me they should be the other way round. The Madsen fires 450 rpm and the BM fires around 500 - 550 rpm IRL. Yet in the game they're the other way round.

I consider this the best gun for the support class. I'm most comfortable with it. Plus it's a gorgeous piece, especially with the "Koch" skin on it. very diverse gun. you can run and gun or snipe with it with ease. Plus fantastic sound.

So, just to put on the radar, the chachaut currently has the slowest fire rate. This was made before the French dlc, and therefore he didn't know about it (then). However, I still have very high opinions about the Hotchkiss, and the chachaut. Great lmgs, probably the two best. Carry on.

Just a little history snippet: M1909 has metal magazines, which are easy to bent, on the other side, if they get wet, nothing prevents them from operating normally, unlike Maxim and other machine guns which fed their MGs from belts and when got wet, wouldn't work, because they would become bigger, and couldn't get into the receiver.

Fact about the Benet Mercie: The Japanese military liked the design of it, and after WW1 leaned towards taking inspiration from French designs of light machine guns, including their Type 11 LMG being largely inspired by it.

+Nightwatch I'll need to see how the patch affects them to judge, the increased suppression and improved aimed accuracy sound quite beneficial, and the low weight variants now seem like a more viable option with a quicker accuracy gain during fire (along with a bipod) hopefully it should make LMGs slighty more effective in general

When I got this weapon I simply wanted to test it out and originally I thought it was going to be shit (talking about the optical) based on my opinion of the storm, which I didn't spend much time with because I got BAR right after. However after I used the optical I absolutely loved it, I then started using the storm but I didn't like it as much as the optical. Still sucks in comparison to the BAR and mg15. Anyways that's just my opinion.

I used to have a bug with the Benet Mercie, where the ammo would be loaded, but the strip just starts sliding around (left and right with the bullets still in it) when I wasn't firing.

It’s a scoped, accurate, slow firing SMG. Good for medium range only. For long range the M1917, Parabellum, and LMG 08/18 are better. For close range, the BAR and Burton LMR are best. For something good at every range, the Lewis Gun is best. Pros: Good accuracy Low recoil Fast reload Good at medium range Scoped Cons: Small magazine Low fire rate There are better LMGs

Ok so I have a question. I don't know if you can even answer this. As I was playing with this weapon this weekend, I swear it turned into a single shot weapon. Is this some type of glitch? I was playing as support and using this as intended as a machine gun but when I died twice because it just stopped shooting as such, I was baffled. I still used it and just made sure that I used as the single shot but I was confused about it.

+quiet storm Some weapons can switch firing modes from semi-auto to full-auto and visa versa by pressing down on the d-pad on consoles, not sure which button it is on pc. I think the M1909 can switch firing modes, so it'll probably be that.

That's awesome. And it makes sense because I have to hit so many buttons while I am playing. I think I was hitting the D-pad to activate my mortars and must have done that switching back to my weapon. Thank you. Mystery solved. :)

The M1909 is chambered in 7.62x63 (30-06). Yet it takes around 5 shots to kill someone in the game. That is soooooo unrealistic. Do you know what a 30-06 will do to you from close range!? Even at 500+ meters it will be an extremely fatal blow. I mean for God's sake I hunt Kudu with the 30-06. And considering a Kudu is far larger than a human, and the vast majority of the time he drops in the spot. That is saying something, this game is extremely unrealistic.

PGTRegard Dice said themselves in an interview that while they had to make restrictions on certain aspects of the game, they tried to remain as realistic and historically accurate as possible. Firstly, they failed massively on the realism. And Lawrence of Arabia never had a female helper as shown in the campaign. They failed on both aspects.
