Dude, u know what is weird? In Russian version of BF1 UK, USA and 2 rus armies speaks... Russian! That’s goddamn weird, what I can’t listen English words, when playing UK. Also they make a great voice lines for “In the name of the Tsar” dlc, but instead they use basic lines, which they used for UK and USA. In unused sound they have authentic words, like “yes, Your Honor”. Sorry for the bad English, lol

And it wouldn't be such an issue if they were at least honest about them wanting to turn Battlefield classes into hero characters like other shoo-oh wait yes it would because that isn't what Battlefield is, so they lied to us. They marketed it as though the tone would be dire, like man fighting man and tearing the earth apart all the while, only the natural disaster side of things would tip the scale and remind both sides that no human is in control of this battlefield, and our conflicts are petty, destructive, and selfish. Cool right? Dark, good way to keep the "war is hell" thing going from the last two without having to stick to non-fiction to really sell the seriousness of it, potential for some "levelution" events like the sandstorm and tornadoes we did get (although they're pretty lame and don't affect the battle like I hoped they would, and really, WHAT is so fucking special about the rocket lifting off on Orbital? Like am I missing something with that one or is that really all that happens?) Basically, with this setting, you can keep that feeling of being an insignificant cog in a massive death machine that's pitted against another massive machine, in a world that doesn't care about your human conflict and will crush the entire city you're trying to control in an instant if the wind kicks up right. The trailers and marketing were very clearly trying to communicate that that was the tone they were trying for with this one. I was excited, I think it's a perfect setup for a fictional future battlefield setting. And then we found out about specialists, and that the game director on this one had only made mobile games before, and... Yeah... Yeah.

I usually got stuck on the German team and always played medic, seeing the amount of carnage happening on screen while having to revive people was definitely up'd to 100 with the voice actor sounding as frantic as I was haha. Had some of the greatest immersion moments in gaming doing that

Voice acting in BF1 is the best in any FPS out there, bar none. Across the board, it's fantastic and feels very genuine. There's one particular voice line I always loved, when an Italian voice actor coughs in the middle of his bit. It's such a wonderfully "real" addition to the soundscape. I adore it.

Since german cinema is almost 100% dependent on foreign films, the voice acting is fucking top-notch. Although many say "watch XY in original, it's more authentic" I sometimes prefer the german voice acting (except when watching something like Peaky Blinder, Band of brothers, ... when accents or different cultures are involved. The only variation we can hear is standard German, German with the eastern accent, German with a southern accent)

I love that they kept the native languages for each faction. Im german so I can really appreciate even the small voice lines they say, but even in the other languages it sounds really genuine. Its a sign of good voice acting (and directing) when you can appreciate the background voice lines in a foreign language, in a FPS of all places PS: I love the voice line the Ottoman medic does when dropping medic supplies
