I love these videos. A lot of times they use guns that I didn't really like at first, only to learn that I had just been using them wrong. (L86A2 is an example. I didn't like it's small mag size.) These videos make a lot of the guns on this game more fun to use. Mainly because they show you which gun is good at which task, or situation. Thanks guys!

This is the gun that got me to use the support kit. After running out of ammo in my L85 I picked on of these up and fell in love, I just wish they'd add the dmr version

I like that you mention the M27IAR in this video as I feel the L86A2 fills in the gap left by the M27IAR. I find myself using the M27 for medium to close range and switching to the L86A2 for those medium to long situations. I personally run the L86A2 with the Bi-pod/Flash Suppressor/ and ACOG and it handles fantastic.

The L86 is spectacular! I've used it to over 1,100 kills thus far, and have deployed it in many counter-sniping situations. I sometimes get ultra-bold and slap on the 6x scope to aggravate the long range snipers with the scope glare, only to match their bolt action speed with a burst of rounds going their way. Great review, and definitely an accurate rating @ 4 or 5 out of 5 stars!

It's worth saying twice over that the bipod is a great attachment for this gun. I use it in combination with a laser sight and mow down all who stand before me. I find the extended mags unnecessary, but the heavy barrel can work wonders too.

I have two categories of LMGs in the support class. That is offensive LMGs like the hybrid assault rifle and lighter LMGs like the M27, L-86A2 and SAW and the defensive general purpose MGs like the M240, M60 and PKP. Personally I find this weapon to be perfect in almost all regards if you're an offensive player. If you're rushing an MCOM and get pinned, this weapon can allow you to pin them and thus alow your team to take the target.

Infact the full name of this rifle is L86A2 LSW wich stands for Light support weapon so it is a mix between an MG and a Assult Rifle

Actually, the L86A2 or LSW (light support weapon) is a German weapon manufactured by H&K. However the British army use it. The grip at the rear of the weapon is there to make sure the weapon stays tucked into the shooters shoulder when lying prone. On the real life variant there is also a wire shoulder trap which further increases stability. ;-)

Big Boy LMG's are good for camping an objective and not having to reload more than an assault rifle. they also play to their strengths when used in narrow alley ways and choke points like in Metro. As with anything, situational awareness is key to using a big boy LMG, and being VERY good with you're sidearm is also a plus. Like in any game in BF3, i choose the loadout that works best to the situation at hand. Running and gunning isn't always the answer to everything,

I like this gun. It has become my go to in support class. I don't find that any of the load outs are over the top good, but they all seem to do quite well depending on game play. The big boy LMG's tend to have certain load outs that work better than others. This gun you can interchange the barrels and grips and do just as well.

I 100% agree with everything you(snoov603) say about this weapon. It really excels at medium to long range but close quarters isn't its greatest strength. I would prefer the pkp or the m240b for close range due to high damage output . I am new to your channel and I find your weapon reviews better than most so keep it up with the good vids.

This gun is a god. Extended mags and a bipod and it can play at being a traditional LMG. Bipod and heavy barrel and it can be a counter-sniper. Flash suppressor and foregrip and it's a perfect run and gun LMG. It's my 3rd most used weapon as it's the only one I use on support.

I find the M145 on the L86 very effective at medium to long range. Even without using the Bipod, the recoil is very manageable

The only viable options for the third slot are IMHO - Laser Sight - Extended Mags or - Heavy Barrel You can switch between these three depending on the situation.

Realistically, it should fire at 650 rounds per minute and have a 30-round magazine. Also, the L86A2, M27 IAR, MG36, RPK-74M, and QBB-95 aren't even LMGs. They are SAWs (or LSWs). I was kind of hoping that it would have been almost nearly identical to the L85A2 (statistically) since it would allow the support class to have a slightly more aggressive weapon.

Honestly, I love this weapon. It is the only support class weapon that works for me. Why did snoov mention the bipod twice at 2:57? Was it to emphasize that the bipod is the best attachment for lmgs? Or was it just a little screw up? Either way, great review guys.

I disagree with Fake in the setup for the l86 cuz it doesn't have any horizontal recoil; so instead of Foregrip and Spp you can put: - Long Range: Acog/Holo, Bipod, Heavy Barrel. - Mid Range: Holo/RDS, Bipod, Flash Spp. Close Quarters: Holo/RDS, Foregrip/Nothing, Laser Sight/ Spp.

i really do love it and i know it's the LMG version of the L85, but i find it's like dice just basically gave the support a longer version of the L85 with slightly more ammo instead of an entirely different weapon...i'm not mad or anything just a little disapointed.

He gets in there sometimes, but for the most part, I take care of it. He does other stuff like making all of our thumbnails, so it's how we split the work load. That, and he has no access to a computer at work, whereas I do. And KZbin has fucked responding from mobile devices, so trying that doesn't work either, as people don't see him actually responding to their comments.

It's accurate, mobile due to the bullpup design, and with great hipfire with a laser sight. Doesn't reload as fast as the IAR but has the bullpup bonus, and shoots faster and reloads than the RPK but isn't as accurate. It's not difficult to use it. Here's what you: Put down ammo for allies. Get to an area where you can see the enemy and where your allies need to go. Equip extended magazines. Shoot at the enemy's general location and reap the suppression and resupply rewards.

A definite 5/5 for me. I'd barely used the Support class (1st service star for all guns in the class, but not much more) but this gun is a BEAST. Already 5 Star mastered it, and it's the first choice should I need to play Support for whatever reason

To me Kobra, heavy barrel, foregrip really makes this gun a laser at any range, although you're really going to have to get used to burst firing. it just feels like everyone i shoot just falls so quickly. i also dont agree with snove on what he said about him losing battles at CQC because this gun in my hands doesn't disappoint me, well maybe reloading but all guns have that problem lol.

Great review guys, although I seem to lose a lot of engagements with the L86A2 over the M27 IAR..... both are dreadfully accurate LMGs, since I seem to counter-snipe the snipers (especially those in Gulf of Oman map, who just sit there on top of the construction crane and do nothing but taking pot shots at some unaware soldiers)...

I prefer the L86 over the M27, since it doesn't look like the absolutely hideous AR-15, if I'm going to be on the offensive and constantly moving. With the EOTech Holographic sight, bipod (I find the foregrip doesn't really benefit the weapon), and no third attachment. It makes a reasonably good assault weapon, without sacrificing the ability to lay down some suppressing fire. However, if I'm going to be a bit more stationary, I'll take the M240 or QBB-95, depending on the map.

I got extended mags an hour ago halfway through a game, it's a god sent for the gun. I also found using the gun in a hit-and-run tactic and using the C4 to set up traps is great. This gun deserves a 4*/5* =|:3
