That it is only through Scientology that you can rid yourself of these souls (Go Clear) that they call Thetans. Saw this movie when it first came out. the book was awesome. The movie...well I'll be nice and just say not so awesome. I think this was Travolta's offering to his Fearless Leader L. Ron Hubbard. To bad it didn't do justice to the book. Those who don't know, Hubbard was an early scifi writer like Asimov and Heinlein. I never really read it anywhere but I think Heinlein thought Hubbard was either crazy or a joke because in at least a couple of his books he poked fun at Scientology.

@@jjackson3240 The book was horrible too. It doesn't use the strengths of pulp by being fast paced, so Battlefield Earth moves slow. And the aliens there were also dumb, and the other non-Psychlo alien species are dumb in the same way so they might as well be the same aliens but with different names. Too bad Mission Earth is even worse.

In Los Angeles, there is a Scientology recruiting center on Hollywood blvd or Sunset, I can't remember. They use young, beautiful model-looking people to stand outside and try to recruit you! All of them dressed like Wall st.

This mess was based on a novel written by the founder of Scientology L. Ron Hubbard. John Travolta (who’s a member) spent years bringing this to the big screen, even claiming that it’s better than Star Wars!😂 The results: it’s widely considered to be one of the worst movies ever made for its amateurish & lousy acting, unintentionally hilarious moments, horrible direction where every single shot is a Dutch angle which you have to put your head in an uncomfortable diagonal position, atrocious screenplay and it’s notable of “winning” multiple Razzie Awards in 3 SEPARATE CEREMONIES! THAT’S HOW BAD IT IS PEOPLE! RAZZIE WINS In 2001 it “won” Worst Picture, Director for Roger Christian, Actor for John Travolta as Terl the over-acting alien, Supporting Actor for Barry Pepper as worst hero ever made (Forest Whitaker, who played Ker, was also a nominee in this category, but lost), Supporting Actress for Kelly Preston as useless cameo, Screen Couple for John Travolta and anyone in the entire galaxy and Screenplay for J.D. Shapiro. In 2005 it “won” Worst Drama Movie of the show’s first 25 years In 2010 it “won” Worst Picture of the Decade where the screenwriter accepted the award in person and acknowledged that Battlefield Earth is god-awful Travolta believed that this film would be a big hit, but instead it ruined his career. Never join Scientology, they will destroy you!

I was studying Scientology back in the 90s, at the dawn of the Internet -- _long_ before Project Chanology, or Tom Cruise's couch-jumping antics -- and *not* because I had any belief that it was a good thing, but rather because I was _fascinated_ by how insanely subversive and destructive it was to an individual's will and sense of self. I don't think any other group has so mastered the art of brainwashing. It's absolutely _fascinating!_
