There were no Soviets, Partisans, Chinese Forces (until way later), French Resistance, Polish Armja Krajowa or any other faction that historically DID include women. Instead, the women focused missions that they did had instead chose to erase the real life heroic deeds of the Norwegian resistance by replacing them with a fictional civilian mother and daughter duo.

I agree. As a woman I felt this game tried to use us as a selling point when they actually didn't even bothered to make a cohesive story. What they did was to slap a weird, non sensical character that had no explanation of being over a broken, bugged, badly done game and tried to use it as a shield against criticism. In the end, because of lazy, stupid moves like this, there are many who automatically get angry over female game characters(specially as a protagonist).

It was mainly because of historical inauthenticity, something that BF1 never had a problem with. The marketing simply didn't preset the game correctly and the game itself had a lot of problems with being authentic to WW2.

"I hope that the next Battlefield will have enough polish, bug testing, and content at launch..." Let me put it this way, Matt: I bought 2042 at launch. I returned it the same day, and the GameStop cashier didn't even care that I already played it, he was just like, "Yeah, this game sucks, I don't blame you for returning it." I got Modern Warfare instead.

7:40 Which was of course their own damn fault for making a WWI game that played and was framed exactly like a standard WWII game -- run-and-gun combat with automatic weapons, lots of vehicles, prominently featuring Americans, with the Germans as the villains. The two games _should_ have been quite distinct, but since they weren't prepared to take the risk that American Call of Duty bros wouldn't "get" WWI they ended up making the same game twice.

Also one of the big problems was the blatant re-usage of weapons from Battlefield 1, but not the ones that played a significant role in WW2 too (Springfield 1903, C96), but the ones that were already prototype/minuscule in WW1 (Selbstlader 1906/1916, Ribeyrolles, Remington 8). I don't mind prototype weapons, but at least put WW2 prototype weapons in it and not reused BF1 assets

Battlefield V was teased and torn apart, its launch was flaccid, it had some mediocre fun for a while, and then they decided to go against all of the fans say and patch the game to require a million bullets to kill someone. This game stunk from the start and fizzled out as a fart. I love the battlefield series, but this game was awful. you can still see the stink lines on it.

The thing is that it wasn't just that women were in the game... It was that there was a British woman with a prosthetic arm, a barbed-wired cricket bat, and blue face paint in the game. It looks stupid. It is stupid. It isn't historical. It really confused the tone of what the game was supposed t be going for.

Yeah, it wasn't the sexist angle the PR department at EA tried to manufacture after the first trailer reactions. Most people where just bewildered by the trailer. But let's face it - we're talking "hardcore-gamers" here: if it had been a guy the backlash would've been less extreme. At least from a certain subset. I saw people online genuinely being pissed about having female sniper models.

So I joined a bf platoon while playing bf1. They thought I was fun to play with and ended up joining a good sized group with good, dedicated battlefield players (one of my friends had the highest bomber score in the world). When bfv came around, I didn't wanna buy it but leadership convinced me that shifting was important to stay relevant and grow our group. For over a year expanded and joined competitive groups, but dealt with shitty support, missing content, bugs, glitches, bullshit and delays. No one liked it really but we had to stick together. But once Warzone dropped, everyone abandoned battlefield v, even veterans that swore off of CoD forever. It's the only game I actually regret buying and hope the next title can bring it all back.

I'm not surprised that you like so many others misrepresented the problems people had with the unhistoric shoehorning of women into the game while calling people "uneducated" when they pointed out that women didn't fight on a particular front or battle. Black women didn't fight on the front lines for the US army period. That is a fact that cannot be refuted. You see women fighting in battles on fronts they never fought in. Dice could have avoided this by saying from the beginning that they were throwing historical accuracy out of the window. Instead of the infamous "uneducated lul" comment made by that simpleton. Or that horseshit story he told about his daughter, that I don't believe. It's interesting that people who never played the battlefield series and know nothing of the previous games are so sure that battlefield never took historical accuracy seriously. At least you avoided the pitfall that many stupid people fell into by comparing game mechanics to historical elements as if that is a good point or own.

Its not that "women fighting in WWII" is wrong but rather "not showing the actual women that fought in WWII and instead insert then were they didnt fought" because people will catch anachronisms like female marines in 1945 and will call on that. That funny enough makes then racist because Soviets had females on combat roles but we cannot show the Russians in any good light because we always been at war with Eastasia.

8:06 - Oh, so basically what Blizzard has done with World Of Warcraft, in it's entire history! Seriously, every new expansion, ALL spells and abilities are changed, all character talent points and rotations are undone and players are left with re-figuring it out for themselves. Huh, I wonder why so many have basically kissed Blizzard's ass for such a long time when that bullshit was happening - meanwhile players get outraged over the same thing with Battlefield V.... Also, Blizzard has continually fucked so much up in WoW with every new expansion, but I'm not going to fill a comment with a wall of text detailing every single change, screw up, and every single time they gave players the middle finger.

You completely missed the whole "if you don't like what we did with the game, don't buy it" "we're always on the right side of history" schtick that one of the devs made.
