Battles & Barriers at Brands. B*llocks - Super Touring Power 2 with CTCRC Classic Thunder Saloons

Following an epic event last year, Super Touring Power 2 at Brands Hatch looked set to be another great weekend with plenty of racing action. Following a few mechanical issues this season, we were hoping to get some more points on the board and get back into championship contention with Josh Lawton in the mighty Civic, and Ian Bower who was quietly dominating Class C to take the overall lead.
Turns out you need to keep it on the black stuff to get those points...

Great racing, looked like amazing fun. It's a real shame the crash happened (a massive understatement). It looked horrendous but atleast both drivers walked away and the orange army got you all back to the paddock safe. Hope the car better than it looked. Thank you for the great video.

7:30 was exciting having to do my best Jake Hill impression to avoid you 😜 I am sure the guy didn’t mean to get in the way. But it frustrates me when somebody is all out on their own and can’t just get out the way of cars who are actually battling. Just stick to the racing line and let other cars work their way around you. Hey ho, was a good weekend still 👍🏼

Just watched that again. Did he have door mirrors? It looks like he doesn't from the video.🤔 How is that allowed? Surely having side mirrors and interior mirror is a requirement in racing 🤷‍♂️

Classic Thunder regs say the original mirrors can be removed but there must be at least one external rear view mirror.

Can't help but think your driving style would suit longer endurance type events more. You don't grab the car by the scruff of the neck, too smooth for sprint races

Rare internet moment here: I'm not going to argue that! haha. I used to drive the car harder, and I know EXACTLY what you mean. I don't know if it's the responsibility of being a parent, or knowing how much it'll cost to replace if I bend it, but the last few years have definitely been more about developing the car to be faster whilst maintaining a margin of safety, rather than extracting every single last possible tenth from it. Maybe I need to man up and take a few more brave pills!

@@TeamPrawnRacing Or have a go at some longer events, some of the 50min events are reasonable value for money. The two hr. events will require the wick being turned down in the interest of reliability.

Racing contacts may happen each moment of each lap.. what a mess. Next event will spin up da wheel. Possibly if you replace those horrible oem side mirrors with cheap wrc ones you'll be da luckiest driver on track 😂
