If the MC-85 was properly armed, it would have rivaled any ship its size, especially with its state of the art Mon Cala shields.

I always thought of it being designed as a carrier more than a frontline battleship and used its heavy shields to protect itself.

I’m a huge fan of the mc85, it is my all time favourite ship and I think the data from wookieepedia shows the stats of the Raddus, rather than the standard MC85, which we still know little about, and the Raddus was stripped of most of its weapons meaning it could have had many more lighter weapons before. Also, judging from the size of the Raddus’s hangars, which it has at least 3 of, I’m sure it can hold at least 144 starfighters (12 squadrons) or 96 if the top one was holding u-55 shuttles instead. I hope to see more of these wonderful ships in the future

I feel like the raddus had such a low arsenal because of the demilitarization efforts and imo a normal mc85 cruiser should have a much bigger arsenal.

That’s very possible, I think I gave a caveat that the MC85 specs were based almost entirely on the Raddus, so you could be right that a “normal” MC85 would be more properly armed.

I’ve seen some other posts online about it and some state it’s standard weaponry is much more impressive than on the Raddus

The ST absolutely throttled any worldbuilding. It basically scorched earthed the entire post-Endor development of the New Republic and Imperial Warlords. As a fan of ship designs in any material, the absolute lack of innovation by Disney and the people at Lucasfilm shows how far they have fallen since the days of the EU.

Maybe the raddus’s turrets were batteries which had 3-10 guns so it could have 50-180 turbo lasers

The comparison with the MC80A Home One type is actually incorrect. The Home One type isn't armed with 36 heavy turbolasers and 36 heavy ion cannons, it's armed with 29 regular turbolasers, and 36 regular ion cannons. Seeing as how there are many different kinds of heavy turbolasers and heavy ion cannons, it's safe to say that the MC85's turbolasers and ion cannons were probably enormously powerful, considering that a ship so massive is only able to power 18 of each.

This is correct. The 18 heavy turbolasers on the MC85 are comparable to the power of an ISD’s 8 quad heavy turbolasers

You’re right, but in my defense, it was one of the better known warships actually within the size range of the Raddus, even if the tonnage was a good bit higher. There aren’t too many warships in the 3km range, most are way smaller with the rest generally being way bigger :/

The most absurd concept found throughout the lore is the ridiculous military mindset of the “good guys” always defensive and lacking common sense,a great example is the armament of their capital ships while the empire is destroying planets with their vessels armed with ship borne light sabers,lol the good guys are arming theirs with overcharged tractor beams,makes no sense even the Jedi is ridiculous solving conflicts with talk and promises while billions died,just a ridiculous idea
