Mentioned the dew on crop when spraying the best way been told to test it is get the wetter or adjuvant using and spray it with a hand bottle and watch to see if it makes the dew run off creating a rain event in the crop canopy, If dew doesn’t run off like rain go get her done

We finished wheat still to take 2500 bushels to elevator and put part in the seed bin. The last day was a bugger! Never a day like this in 60 years. We has the alternator quit in the combine...getting to it is not so simple. We had a tire go bad going 18 miles to elevator that was still taking wheat before closing early for 4th of July. I got ready to dump 300 bu and found the grain tank empty. After looking for a while, found the grain auger pan under the sieve fell off. Took a while to find it under the straw. It fell off on the end of the pass before the last dump. We bought this combine used and someone didn't tighten the 5 bolts holding the pan on. Hope your last day of harvest will go better. On Our first day the engine drive damper stripped out..the engine had to be taken out.

You were happy with .8 inch of rain, nice. This week in Wis they got over 8 inches of rain near Baldwin. Washed out a major north south highway over there lots of flooding there. But it is not the first time there are some pretty steep ravines there and it gathers the water fast. Here in MN we got a little less but still landslides near Mankato MN. Some roads closed still. Funny what a difference a (.) can make isn’t it. That’s just a little info you probably didn’t need. But hey keep on farming cause I like eating. I remember the routine, grew up on a dairy farm no free days there either. Have a good couple days off you deserve them.

Hey Welkers, I love watching your videos! They are good english training for me ... at least for listening. Little tip for your product pump on your trailer: If you like to improve the efficiency and capacity of your pump, just avoid the usage of such sharp bends downstream and especially upstream your pump. A hard 90° bend at the intake side causes huge flow separation and affects both pump capacity and efficiency ;-) Stay safe and sound! Best regards from Bavaria!

The issue you describe running on the crop is why tramlining was invented, where the seeder is equiped to block 2 pairs of seeding coulters every 3rd pass or whatever. This requires the seeder to be an exact division of the width of the sprayer. It means you save seed and it is dead obvious where the sprayer is meant to drive. Usually for pre emergence wide profile tyres are used as the crop will recover more easily when the weight is spread and as the crop grows, producers switch to a standard or even narrow section wheel/tyre set up to stay within the lines created by the blocked off coulters. At that stage too the rains have stopped and the ground is harder. This is the type of system that I am used to and GPS and auto steering has probably done away with it, but tramlines save seed and provide clear and obvious marking so no cock ups over and under spraying and no plant damage from running on crop. But yes, you must choose your drill size which has to be an exact division of your applicator width. This is not for the Welker family, who I am sure know what I am on about, but for the followers that may not be aware of the existence or understanding of 'tramlines'.

We stream on 26-0-0-5 Even 6 gpa could make 10 more bushels. With the plentiful soil moisture 3 more bushels would be very likely. A nutrient healthy wheat plant use less water to make a bushel. There is an old "wives tale" that fertilizer burns a water stressed crop but it is not backed up by research.
