The Man fighting George Carpentier is my Ancestor I recently learned of this from my Father. I'm a Muay Thai practitioner and there isn't a day of my life that goes by that I don't wonder will I ever fulfill the dream he died in?

In truth Siki was not declared the winner until the following day. The referee unbelievably declared Carpentier the winner stating that Siki illegally tripped Carpentier. It was not a disputed punch as stated by the narrator. The crowd began protesting and the referee's life was threatened by the crowd. The local boxing commission reversed the referee's decision the next day.

Very nice presentation. I had seen less watchable versions before. Many commenting here note, rightly, that Siki clearly tripped or kicked Carpentier at the end. A well-timed martial arts move but not boxing. It was a pretty rough battle by both until the end. I never understood why Carpentier kept his leg in the air while lying on the ground. Was there any report of the leg being broken?

Siki was very agile and fast! I like his crouching stance and punching style. I feel as if his style is often looked over.

@@harryheath4794 Well he started to fight dirty. Let's just say his 'primal instincts ' came to the forefront. 🤓👍All the best!

I guess Carpentier had started fighting dirty in the beginning so what does that say about his primal instincts?...Or rather, neanderthal caveman-like behavior. @@TheBatugan77

Watch at 12.08. Siki clearly kicks Carpentier with his left leg. The ref called it right but the judges overturned it. I like Siki but its sad to see that it was a foul. But he was still a great fighter.
@mider-spanman55777 жыл бұрын
Carpentier was fouling for most of the fight. He was headbutting and charging at Siki like a bull! The ref kept ignoring what Carpentier did, but continued to reprimand Siki because; 1) He was a Black man in a white man's world. 2) Carpentier was the hometown boy.
@fliars60605 жыл бұрын
smithryansmith ... Because you like Carpentier more than Siki so you don't care about the rest of the fight right? The last round was the 6th so just watch what happened at the end of the 5th 11:04 So who cheated before and during all the bout? Carpentier was a con man during that fight and Siki was a gentleman until that 6th round

YOU SEE Siki's right foot slide in between Carpentier's left foot and slowly keep Him Off balance and half trip Him and then,,, Hit Carpentier with a right to his kidneys lol I just noticed that after watching this many other times in the past anyway that's what stopped him CARPENTIER a foul that you could get away with back in 1922 but not now IT WASNT A a below the belt foul that i believe they claimed . Siki won but no rematch Siki later lost the championship on a 20 round decesion LOSS to Mike Mctigue on St Pat's Day in Ireland 6 months later march 17 1923 Mike simple just out-boxed a slugger CHECK IT OUT? ON youtube here :)
