In this video, I am in Florida, chasing 100 lb plus fish under a DOCK!!!
This is something I have tried to do on previous trips and failed. It is literally basically the "hold on" type of fishing, where it is man vs beast!

Thanks for bringing back a great memory when I was 14 just dock fishing at Satellite Beach, FL. Nowhere near the size of yours, but an hour long fight. Then two weeks to regain the use of my arms and about a month for the bruise to go away on my stomach where I wedged the rod butt under my ribs. LOL! If I had it to do all over again…. I’d do it all over again. Thanks again for the memory.

The first time I ever saw a grouper was on a party boat out of Galveston. After getting the 100+ pound fish on the deck, the angler asked the deck hand what it was. He said it was a Goliath Grouper. The angler said, "What do you fillet it with...a chainsaw?" I will always remember that and smile.

@@crasherxtreme Is it edible? You can find Goliath grouper on the menu in other countries, such as Cuba, so it is definitely a fish that can be eaten. It is not as tender as some fish, but it makes excellent fish stew and chowder, which is how the fish is often prepared.

@@supupandaway8138 They're endangered and can't be harvested. The problem with goliath grouper is that it takes 3-4 years for them to mature enough to spawn. They were hunted nearly to extinction in the US by spearfishing because they're fearless, you can swim right up and put the spear so it's literally touching their head and they just sit there. Attempting to film these types of videos does nothing but endanger the juvenile goliaths for clout.

Born and raised in Miami. I’ve always thought of Grouper as the Largemouth Bass of saltwater. Goliaths have drowned spear fishermen that just couldn’t or wouldn’t let go.
@squirrelgunsmith1131
@squirrelgunsmith1131 3 жыл бұрын
Actually Snook are the salt water counterpart to largemouth. Also it has been illegal to take Jewfish for over 55 years and drowning divers is an "urban" myth. We used to catch them around Davis islands in the Seddon channel near downtown Tampa before it was illegal. FYI as far as pallatability there are better species, they get worms like red, and carbarita grouper do.

Good job guys. Fishing around docks and boats is difficult. Fish wanna run, but too many obstacles to get caught on. Get em out in the clear and you have nothing but time on your side. There is a fine line between too much slack line and too much line strain. When they run give them 4 or 5 seconds, then its your turn for 8 to 10 seconds. Let them run, but you can change their direction. We alway, everyone of us loose alot more than we ever catch. No matter how big it was, if you loose it, dont sweat it. You have the most important thing down perfectly, and that is the release. Great job.

I am so envious of ya'll. I love fishing of any kind and would so love to be there on the water casting a line. However, I'm almost as afraid of those giant grouper as I am of sharks.

Anyone to who's not a believer of The Lord Jesus Christ I think you should turn to Him before you die, or He comes back and al l you need to do is believe with your heart and confess with your mouth and repent of your sins John 3:16 for God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that who so believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life I'm not forcing I just love you enough to tell you that. because as I'm writing this, I'm not doing my homework I want you to go to heaven not hell
