GORGEOUS pattern. I'm 62, and I've been crocheting since I was 9- even with that, I would not have been able to figure this out with written instructions. Thank you for this video tutorial- it was eye-opening.

I take all my left over yarns pop,them into a bag and sit in the middle of my sunroom, reach into the bag and what ever yarn I grasp I throw it into a corner of the room the next one in the next corner etc. then when the bag is empty I collect each corner of yarns and pop them into four separate bags, that’s how I decide what to use next, it’s truely amazing how well it conspires. A bit like the daily temperature way of choosing colours, however this is far more random. I find with a project like this blanket even if you have some yarns that are different weights it all works out in the end, just make sure they are not too different. Also it’s very therapeutic to throw balls of yarn across the room. Ps. If you hit a passer by they get to decide what corner the yarn ends up in.
@Itsallinanutshell4 жыл бұрын
indeed, therapeutic :D

make your squares smaller, so less rounds, to get a square size that you need. Or make less squares, that could also work.

?Thank you once again Esther for a stunning blanket video! Did you use the same size hook for the border as you did for the blanket? I noticed in the video you used a 3.5 and for the squares a 4.0. I just love the finished blanket and using up all those leftover scraps will make this very unique!
@Itsallinanutshell4 жыл бұрын
I used a 4mm hook for the quares and the border of the blanket. The video is made with different, slightly thiner yarn, hence the 3.5mm hoook

Yarn is categorized by weight. DK = Double Knit. This is yarn that is worked with a 4mm hook. Look on the labels, some yarns give the weight category too.

Thanks so much for this lovely pattern. One question - this obviously involves a lot of colours, and therefore a lot of ends to weave in. I never feel particularly confident about my weaving in skills, and my fear would be that it would (worst case, of course) unravel if I didn't weave in properly. Do you have any weaving in tips for the less confident crocheter? Many thanks, and I really enjoy all of your videos.
@Itsallinanutshell4 жыл бұрын
I go back-and-forth 3 times, partially working through the yarn tail itself. By doing 3 passes it usually stays in place well.
