@@StitchesnScraps It really did! I'm using this stitch for washcloths/face cloths for a friend because I think the texture would be really nice but also pretty! Also, thank you for including a written version of the stitch because I find myself forgetting if I should start with a DC or a SC, and it makes it easy to glance at and check! I dunno if you already do, but it would be neat if you had a place to tip/donate on your site. C:

@@ValentinesForever1 That's such a nice thought, thank you! I have thought about the patreon/tip thing many times and keep going back and forth on it. I have pdf versions of my patterns available on Ravelry and I figure if anyone really wants to buy me a coffee, they can pick up one of those. That way they get something in return too :) www.ravelry.com/designers/pia-thadani

Hi Pia, Thank you for sharing this new spin on the Bavarian stitch❣ I enjoy the demos when people have their nails nicely done. Print nails with solid color yarns looks nice, and solid colored polish with print yarns looks very nice, so I appreciate your effort to make a lovely presentation for us❣ Keep up the good work❣ 😁

Thank you for making this tutorial, i am making a cocoon vest with the stitch in original square form. But i want to make the sleeves on it with the same type of stitch. Im gonna see and try to make this work in the round, with no visible seem. I really hope i can figure it out but this video helps a ton ❤

Awesome! My $.02 without having actually done it - I would put the join at the center of a fan, 1 st before the ch-1 sp. So like...start your round with ch 4 (counts as dc and ch-1), then 4 dc in same st. End the round with 3 dc in starting st, then join in 3rd ch of ch 4, and then sl st into the ch-1 sp. That way you're set up to start the next rnd with an sc in the ch-1 sp, then ch 3, cl, etc., joining back in the first sc. On the next round, start with an sc in the first sc, and a fan in the first cl, etc, ending with a join in the first sc. Finally on the next round, start and end with a half cl. this makes 2 half cl sts which isn't idea, but on the next rnd just work into the first one and sk the ending one and your stitch count will be fine. Also remember if you're not turning your rounds, you'll always be on the RS so will need to work your clusters as back post sts instead of front post sts.

the bavarian stitch is usually made by using treble crochet stitches. I'm going to try those instead of dc. And then the starting chain must be 8+4ch.

How do you make the foundation row?do you make a chain of 6+2;then turn and do single sc in each stitch?
@StitchesnScraps
@StitchesnScraps 6 ай бұрын
It should be 6+4 chs (6+3 sts) - I had 21 for the sample. But you don't have to start from sc, you can start from chains or from any sts really, you just need a multiple of 6+3 spots to work into.

If you do sc in the 21 chains how many sc do you start with
@StitchesnScraps
@StitchesnScraps 2 ай бұрын
you need 21 sts (multiple of 6 + 3) to start, so in the case of this video I started with 21 sc. That means I chained 22, and then worked sc in the 2nd ch and each ch after that.

Hi sorry to ask but when turning the fans in to a cluster don't you mean skip the ch1 space inbetween? as I'm not sure where the single crochets are perhaps I missed something?
@StitchesnScraps
@StitchesnScraps 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, no problem! :) OK so on the row where you work the fans, you have a chain one space at the center of each fan and then in between the fans you have single crochets right? On the cluster row, your clusters are centered over the sc from the row below. This way the diamonds get offset. You use 4 dc posts from 1 fan, then sk the sc between the fans, then 4 dc posts from the next fan. That brings you to the chain one space at the top of the fan. That’s where you put your single crochet. In the next row, you’re going to make your fan at the center of your cluster, and then you’re going to put a single crochet into that same single crochet in between fans. And then in the next row those single crochets are going to be where your new clusters are centered.

I would like to make an afghan using this stitch but you really confused me on the base row count. You said repeat of 6 but you have 21 single crochets. I have tried doing the single crochet base row but can't get it. I just want to chain and make singles in the chain So is it multiples of 6 plus 1? Thanks
@StitchesnScraps
@StitchesnScraps 5 жыл бұрын
denise winant: it’s a multiple of 6 plus 3 stitches (it says that in the video but you might have missed it). So if you’re chaining, do a multiple of 6 +4 chains, to get 6+3 single crochet on your first row. Hope that helps!

Yep you totally can do it with treble crochets as well. You'll have to skip extra stitches on the setup row since the tr are taller than the dc. Lots of ways to do it! I'm glad you found a tutorial you like :)

Hi there! can I use a 3mm hook to do this?

sure, but it'll likely be tight unless you're using a thinner yarn. You should use whatever hook you're comfortable with for the yarn you have.

How or what border would you use on your sample video?
@StitchesnScraps

Any border would work, I might go with shells to mimic the shape. I used this technique in a cardigan, and bordered it with straight stitches for the hem and button band. You can find the pattern here: stitchesnscraps.com/free-pattern-bavarian-cardi/

The point seems fine but a very important thing when you want to make a demonstration of fabric can NOT use anything that distracts the look and in this video what takes prominence are the nails with so many colors and different designs it is better not to paint them and so all attention lies in the tissue
