I’m definitely interested in more content on this very unusual model. Repair videos on the unique systems would be appreciated!

As a relative ham hander when it comes to performing all but the simplest maintenance - I must say, getting to the battery on these bikes is something of a project!

It is such. I have a "99 with 10, 000 km. Kinetic art, it is. Can never be in a hurry when dealing with this beauty. Had to change the fuel pump a year ago...sitting with stabilizer...not enough. Never a good idea to start and idle these bikes...they need to be in the wind. A little more "tedious" than the battery. Chris' video (and one other, as I recall) helped tremendously. Changing the original rear tire this weekend. Then, on to the old 79.5 Kashmir Decker...another antiquated piece of rolling art. Hope Chris is ok.

I've had a 2004 R1100S since 2011 and have loved every moment with it could never see myself letting it go, especially with the endless customization options. It has such personality compared to anything else I've been on, the boxer motor is just awesome. Just now seeing you're talking about it Chris, and I hope to see as many videos on it as possible!! HaHa thank you so much you're channel has always been helpful and fun.

A friend of mine had one of these with a Van der Linde exhaust system and it sounded awesome. He let me take it out one lunchtime at work. It was a great bike. I seem to remember the gearbox was a bit agricultural but I guess that adds character.

Thanks Chris, just bought a 2003 with 23k on it and set about restoring it, left stored with an empty tank and had to rebuild the filler and the pump plate? Keep the R1100S stories coming, I'll go to patreon and support you...after all guess who is going to replace the input shaft and clutch...not me :)

@@conkerman01 totally get your pain. All I can say is it's doable. If you ever do feel the need to punish yourself and do it. Get the accordion plastic tubes to replace the old tubes from the fuel pump to the filter. They are cheaper and are higher quality (much higher burst ratio than stock)
