Baviaans - Ep2 - Uitspan to Smitskraal

EPISODE 2
We took on the spectacular road all the way through the Baviaanskloof in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. The variation in scenery, road conditions and mountain passes make this a truly unforgettable (if not iconic) drive!
We were joined by my sister Madeleine, and her family, so it was great to share this experience with them. :-)
We drove the complete route through the Baviaans from Willowmore to Patensie over three days and present this in 4 separate episodes. In this 2nd episode the road from Uitspan to Smitskraal is shared with you, we hope you will find it interesting!

Good morning, Werner, Annelie and Mia! So happy to know you slept snugly. Veronica’s roadside Padstal was such a lovely “find” - I’m sure she was delighted to be featured on your channel and I wish her much success with her venture. This episode has certainly lived up to my anticipatory expectations! I loved all the playful, splishy-splashy footage; the close encounter with the “sleepy” little donkey; the well maintained kerkie, “in the middle of nowhere”; the many river crossings, all so pretty (did you perhaps count how many you crossed on this trip?). It was so green and lush - clearly some good, summer rains have fallen. Driving down that flooded track seemed a little unnerving and having to negotiate that steep, narrow, cliffdrop road provided a few “heart in mouth” moments, with having to make way for descending vehicles. Your Smitskraal picnic set up looked wonderful. You truly do have roadside picnicking down to a fine art! The drone footage, as always, added another marvellous dimension. An Australian friend with whom I share your episodes had this to say, today… “Loved Baviaans - the couple are so relaxed and joyful 🤗” I couldn’t agree more! I wish I could give many “thumbs up” 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Desh! Thanks so much for once again summing up this video so eloquently! You have a wonderful way with words. I didn’t think to count our river crossings as I was mostly hanging on but there where many and yes it was so lush and lovely….as you could see Werner was having a great time😂.
