Baviaans - Ep1 - Willowmore to Uitspan

EPISODE 1
We took on the spectacular road all the way through the Baviaanskloof in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. The variation in scenery, road conditions and mountain passes make this a truly unforgettable (if not iconic) drive!
We were joined by my sister Madeleine, and her family, so it was great to share this experience with them. :-)
We drove the complete route through the Baviaans from Willowmore to Patensie over three days and present this in 4 separate episodes. In this 1st episode the road from Willowmore to Uitspan is shared with you, we hope you will find it interesting!

This was sooo much fun joining both families and Lexi on this wonderful, back roads camping adventure - your nephew’s cheeky comment at the start of Hike #1, “But you’ve only walked 10 metres” cracked me up, Annelie 😄 You evidently got him to swallow his words by getting nicely into your stride, keeping up with the rest of your “gang” - it was lovely hearing your laughter, as you steadfastly tackled the climb to The Arch. Hike #2 appeared to be even more challenging, yet you accomplished that as well 😁 It’s clear you all get along really easily - the hilarity and comfortable camaraderie was delightful to witness. How strange to have encountered such low temperatures in December. Luckily, you all appeared to be adequately prepared for this unexpected chilliness. I cannot wait for Episode 2 ☺️🫶🏻

Hello, we camp at Uitspan every year. We were there in January 2024 and had no rain but through the Reserve it was flooded out. Enjoy 😂🎉
