imagine capcom after so many years of seeing streamers run these versions for speedruns, and not thinking, "hey, there is money in this, and we could just ask modders to make it for us, and then sell it whilst giving them a fair amount of money, for their work, and clean it up once they're done." like, it could be so f'n easy, it's almost painful to see them struggling, whilst their old IPs need so little touch up, to be viable again. you can use AIs to scale things up. the new consoles are basiclly PCs, and PC is PC, so you program that ish now for one connected plattform, with only minor diffrences to each other, and like that, you could milk every gamer that is into nostalgia, so 90% at bare minimum would buy this with RE2 and RE3 for 30 to 40 bucks. and they still leave that money in our pockets. but we're talking about ppl that were at odds with the ivy enemies cause they seemed too out there. in a game where you have a guy mutating ever bigger, whilst you don't see him eat anything trough the whole game. growing in mass without adding mass, this is the really most questionable thing in RE2.

If arachnophobia was the issue, there would be ZERO offensive language in any video game these days considering how easily triggered people claim to be. Plus, aren't horror games supposed to be scary? I'm terrified of Spiders, so the spider sections of ANY game freak me out, but it's precisely that feeling that I play horror games for.

Maybe they were just seen as a bit goofy and that they wouldn't quite work in a modern re-imagining. They probably could have had them in the sewers in 2 remake and it would have made sense as they were there in the original, but went for those pain in the ass G monsters instead.
