There's a theory that the seals in the divertor valve are being compromised by inhibitor in the heating circuit. 4 year old Baxi 830, onto its third cartridge, leaking up through the plunger pin, same issue every time.

I've an issues with my valve but it's nothing like that one. Potterton gold 24he GC 47 590 05. Took my cartridge top off and all it is is a rod and spring with a piston. Nothing like that cartridge I bought to replace it. Any ideas?

My boiler is leaking from the diverter valve. I'm being quoted £800 to fix it. Can I fix it myself?

How did you get on? £100 tops for that job. Valve cartridge is £15. You must have rung a conman !!

Whomever designed the plastic valves in the Duo-Tecs, needs his/her pay docked. They always snap internally and you need to take the manifold out to get the bottom bit out.

Guessing you didn't loosen the bottom union of the valve 1st ?!!! This releases the hydrolock caused when withdrawing the cartridge. Nowt wrong with the plastic ones when proper procedure used !!
