@@onzkicg it is perfect for practice, but if you want to make it sound decent on distortions you have to spend time eq-ing lol

@@saidsuaste5186 it can be good for covers with the right configuration on your amp, and running it through the effects loop can be useful for that. But if you want cheap gear for covers, I'd recommend you spending on an interface (Behringer has a really cheap one that works decently), and there are good free vsts plugins (STL Tones) to start with

You REALLY wanna know? These types of products and smaller amps are SO high selling and profitable that the majority of comments are astroturfed by marketers using fake accounts (check their profiles - they are only friends with each other), in addition to posting thousands of comments saying "X is the best thing ever!" they also do a lot of work dissing competitors products "I bought this and now I have cancer". This is a good product and cheaper than its competitors so its getting flak from all sides.

Got a Stomplab 2G about a month ago after reading some online reviews & loving it. Running it into an old JCM 800 50watt combo & it sounds really good, my biggest worry was the modulation would sound too "artificial" on such a cheap pedal but it's great. Would highly recommend for anyone on a budget!

I know this video is old, BUT if you want to play live with this unit (and run to the board/mixer), remember to edit settings to line out. A DI box is strongly recommended and if you have a cab sim pedal (using a Hotone), this thing sounds amazing. Yes, it does have cab sims in the pedal, but it doesn’t let you edit like a dedicated cab sim pedal. Oh, and Google is your friend for indepth programming. 😉

- Am likely getting one. Would you say that is the main drawback? I can see it's gonna be clunky to program the patches. Is it 100 preset, 20 user- patches? Will be going into clean Fender amps, both tranny & tube; But also, I'd like to ask if you've ever gone direct to desk / recording device outta that stereo jack? (coz I assume it's a stereo/mono switching jack, meaning if you use a stereo out into 2 channels or a stereo channel, its a balanced signal at line level, low impedance). it seems a lot of bang for ya buck. Thanks Duncan, hope you and yours stay happy & healthy over this holiday period. - UK

I just bought the device with the expression pedal. (Waiting on shipping so this is just research at This point) Going to be referring back to this video alot. I knew I wanted a few effects along with a tuner and a noise gate for a good price. Figured vox is a good brand. I knew it had several preamp and od/dist , and the 2g has a pedal for wah and other expression, but JFC that is a heck of a lot of effects for the price of one regular pedal or a few cheap ones or half or a third of a high end pedal. And it's a vox.

Totally agree with Hyde1415's comments.. I bought one myself, the 2G model with expression pedal -- and I love it man!!! I've been using the Line 6 POD XLT/Live floor unit for several years - and though it has many more options than this Vox does, frankly, the Vox has better tone and gives more bang for the buck. I paid over $450 for the Line 6, but the Vox was $90 and frankly blew my Line 6 POD XLT/Live right off the floor, sound-wise!!

dendi priatna Dude, i bought it for R$ 450,00. With all the taxes in my country, the price is a little bit high. it's about 193$... But that price for the equipment here, its a really good price. Its is a unit, and by far better than my digitech Rp50. The sound is just amazing. It is perfect. And since i don't have money for a set of pedals, it is a great deal.

dendi priatna you have no idea. An Electro Harmonix Big Muff pedal cost about 70$ in the us. It is R$500,00 here. Its about 215 dollars. It's Crazy! But about the stomplab, i got the 2g, with the expression pedal. It is great, and it do all i want, at least for now. The sound is amazing, either on valve amps or solid state. I tested it on a friend's Vox AC30, and it blew my mind. it's so powerfull. I use it on an Orange Crush pix 35. it is still perfect. I wound not go with another unit.

I'm assuming there is only up and down mobility between patches. So during a LIVE performance with the user defined patches, one would have to sequence them properly. Meaning not having to jump over high-gain distortion patch to access (up or down) a clearer chorus or flanger. Ideally not to have a sound spike while traveling between one preset to another. Would this be a correct assertion.?
