Today we take the Bonanza into the world's busiest airport, Oshkosh, for my very first (!!) EAA AirVenture 2021. After taking off out of Ann Arbor, we fly west along the Lake Michigan shoreline, get a stellar view of the Chicago skyline from the air, stop for fuel in Kenosha, then fly the one-and-only Fisk Arrival into Oshkosh. Already looking forward to flying in next year!

My favorite thing about your videos is that you never stop speaking what you're doing, no matter the presence of a copilot or not. Never stop doing that. Aspiring airline pilots of tomorrow are growing up on videos like this, and you're setting a great example. It was also fun to notice your copilot go from what I thought was just a passenger, to someone you'd hand the yoke to, to realizing that actually she's done this before and indeed you're utilizing that experience. The CRM looked excellent and I'm so glad that videos like this exist for the benefit of us all.

Flying through all that intense cross country crowded airspace and into Oshkosh would be stressful for most small plane pilots but she handles it like a Sunday stroll in the park. "Welcome to Oshkosh!" Well done ladies. Great series of videos. About 40-odd years ago(!) -- long before cell phones, GPS and ADS-B -- I dead-reckoned my way from Fair Oaks, CA to the Watsonville (WVI) fly-in on a beautiful May morning. Nothing like Oshkosh, but still quite an adventure for a then-17-year old! Apart from the day's flying demonstrations, antiques and homebuilts, and the camaraderie of the other fly-in participants, what I remember most was the temporary tower's instruction (instead of orange dot/green dot): "Cessna on short final, land on the left side of the runway; Mooney behind the Cessna, land on the right!" Compared to my home field, that runway was huge!

Please don't let the radio intimidate you! If you're close to an airport, buy a relatively inexpensive portable radio or scanner with airband coverage and listen as often as you can. You'll become much more "fluent" in aircraft communication and much more comfortable with aviation communications that way.

It is so rewarding to see young women involved and enthralled with aviation.. everytime I watch your videos it brings back memories of flying with my father. In my early childhood packed into the backseat if our old B model Bonanza and heading back to Pistol Creek Ranch. (GOOGLE IT) where we had and still have a cabin. Landing on a narrow dirt strip. My father and his partner have long since passed away. His Partner Dennis owned the Beechcraft dealership in Boise. So we often flew an array of used and occasionally new Beachcrafts which was fun as a kid, everything from early Bonanza's, to twin-Bonanza's, Travel-Airs, and Barons. As a a kid I really liked the Barons constantly bugging my father that he and Dennis should get one of those, having no understanding of the cost factors of a twin. I know my mother always felt more relaxed in the Baron knowing her family had the extra security of two engines. My father flew for West Coast Airlines (GOOGLE them) flying DC3'S for the first ten thousand hours, then Fairchilds F27 for the next 10,000hrs, then by the time I was in my early teens he had moved into the DC9 which he loved, especially the little Dash-10 which had the same engines as the much heavier Dash-30. During all this he had racked up over 6000 hrs in various Beechcraft flying Charters, demo flights for potential buyers, ferrying flights from the factory out to the different dealerships, or aerial photography for the Idaho dept of Aeronautical maping and aerial navigation. So Stevie watching you slowly in time master your Bonanza brings back wonderful memories of my youth that was filled with aviation. If I were to ask my father to pass on any pearls I think he would say, always fully know and understand what yor altitude and air density is. You see the airstrip at Pistol Creek is 4860 ft above sea-level and that's at standard temperature. Now make it 80+ degrees out and your density altitude is over 7500 feet. I've witnessed numerous airplane accidents. His rule was always early morning or very late evening for Western mountain flying. The other pearl is "It's never too soon to turn around and cancel a trip in bad weather." Or as his partner and he use to say who between the two of them had over 60,000 flight hours. "Let's call it quits and leave this to the more experienced pilots!"

Wasn't until 9:02 I realized co-pilot was acting as Co-pilot! Nicely done ladies, great video: and I hope you both inspire other young ladies to get involved in gen. aviation.

Great vid. I’ve seen hundreds of “I’m flying to OSH” vids but you ladies were fun. Your airmanship and COM skills are impeccable. Looking forward to more.

I really enjoyed this. You both have very lively personalities, but as soon as you're on the mic it's business. How you can switch that fast and smooth is neat!

Oskosh is a hoot! Glad you got to experience it. Two pilots are better than one, at AirVenture, although you seem very at ease with the radio. At ease with your Bo, as well. Bos are confidence inspiring. Good aircraft. Oh, and when you are instructed to rock your wings, you do a fine job! Got a kick out of ATC "you need your gear down to land." LOL! Airspeed up in the turns, Godspeed!
