Unfortunately they never would. It costs them nothing for people to litter. Where i live (ontario) the stores have removed the drive through garbage cans so they don't have people putting garbage from other restaurants in their cans. This created so much more littering but they don't care.

Again, it's not a company's responsibility to be your trash service... When you buy something you own it, when you wish to throw it away it's ONLY out of generosity that there are public trash cans. The obvious exceptions being dinning in, or places which offer in-store goods. If your in the drive thru why do you need a trash can right after buying our drink? Did you even taste it?! And how are you going to hold up a line of paying customers so you can throw away your trash that you've been riding around with for a month and just now decided it's time to throw it away in someone else's garbage bin?! In Japan their streets are remarkably clean and they have the least amount of rubbish bins I've ever seen. It's all a mind set, it's not someone else's responsibly to take care of your needs because you feel like they should.

It's something I'm much more conscience of now that I'm older. But in my entire life(I'm 30) I've only heard of one person I personally knew getting a fine for liittering.

I wouldn't have made it even one block from my house if I had done that. I picked up some things if I was near a garbage can, but ultimately, I was there to film a video, not to do a neighbourhood cleanup. I passed thousands upon thousands of pieces of trash, big and small, and expecting me to pick all that up while lugging around my big tripod and working is asking a little too much. Sure, I could have taken the full pizza box instead of half of it, but what about the rest of the trash? There were crazy amounts, so it would have been impossible to get it all while also making a video. That's like expecting people to leave their jobs in the middle of their shift, while they're on the clock, to go pick up trash when they're supposed to be at work. Trying to put the blame on me for all the litter on the ground is absurd. What you should take away from this video is (1) littering is bad and (2) Picking up a few pieces of trash here and there is the nice thing to do. Also you can make art out of it, haha.*

In my uni I find plenty of pens and pencils, sometimes erasers but they're usually pretty bad. My best find is this nice mechanical pencil that even has metal parts and is actually better than the one I use, haha. The paper is a plenty, too, usually in form of discarded assignments, sometimes even with files or folders
