Sad fact: at 35:00 you can see that Hiro didn’t see Baymax when Baymax sacrificed himself, but instead he saw Tadashi. This just reflects that Baymax wasn’t a robot or even a friend, Hiro saw him as a part of Tadashi. Which means that to Hiro, it was like seeing Tadashi die all over again. And even more ironic, they died the same way: they both sacrificed themselves to save another, they died as heroes
@angellovely1914 Жыл бұрын

Baymax steals the show, but Aunt Cass is a close second place. Maya Rudolph manages to put so much emotion in there, as well as being hilarious.
@Mrryn Жыл бұрын
I see a lot of reactions showcase Hiro's arc, Baymax, the action, the team, and rightfully so. But also feels like in a lot of them, the dynamic with the whole Hamada clan especially Cass goes to the wayside a bit. Which is what makes this reaction a pleasant surprise to me because it doesn't skimp out on that part, and it reminds me why I love Aunt Cass as a character. Her and Tadashi having the exact same reaction to Hiro in the beginning and really that entire interaction between the three of them is such gold in terms of wholesome family writing. Tadashi is a real one all the way until the fire and even beyond, but Cass is such a lovable sweetheart all the way through.

One thing you guys didn’t touch on was the depiction of the cycle of revenge. Hiro is the hero of the story and so you don’t necessarily see his revenge quest as bad, but Callaghan was also seeking revenge for his loss and was the villain. When Hiro saw his own journey depicted in the villain is when he realized that revenge wasn’t the answer. It’s a really interesting dichotomy that they chose.
@bigschmill2945 ай бұрын
Hiros path of revenge is presented as a part of the frief-- he found what took his brother away and he wants to hurt that person. But Callaghan was the same. He saw Cray, the person who took his daughter, and wanted to hurt him. The difference though is, once Hiro was able to gain perspective, he was able to understand Callaghan and fight him THAT way, instead of wanting to ""neutralize"" him. He could empathize with him, instead of seeking revenge. What Callaghan did was wrong. He killed another person (albeit unintended) in order to hurt someone who he thought killed his child. Hiro is no different. But the difference between the two arcs is, Hiro had people who supported him. It seemed like Callaghan was on his own (from what we see anyway) and so he had no one to support him. All his focus went into revenge.

"Tadashi is here." Yes, he left a part of him in Baymax. That's why he has always been there with Hiro. :') Another one I just realized: it is so important to express yourself when you're hurting. Losing someone can make you feel numb and it seems like nothing matters anymore that you just shut the world out. But by simply saying "ow," Baymax was able to help Hiro and be there for him. There is nothing wrong with being vulnerable.

Fun fact: this movie was loosely based off a lesser-known Marvel comic. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony Stark has an AI chip labeled "Tadashi" that some fans believed was a nod to this movie Anyway I'm glad you reacted to this one, it's my favorite animated Disney movie and one of the best films that deals with the concept of grief and tragedy. One of my favorite aspects of it is how honest it is about how unfair tragedy is and how more often than not you'll have to find a way to heal without the situation being perfectly "fixed." Hiro gets Baymax back but being the bigger man and helping Abigail doesn't earn him a magic ending that erases Tadashi's loss. It was especially gutsy for a family film since kids usually expect a perfect solution at the end of a story that makes everything better. It does such a good job of showing the younger audience members the reality that life usually doesn't have fairy tale endings while still reassuring them that there is hope despite that

@Drake844221 Жыл бұрын
This is really an amazing and powerful movie. It had no right to be as emotionally devastating as it was! One of the details I love is that the micro-bots arrange themselves so drastically differently between when Hrio and Callahan control them. With Hiro, they are very geometrically arranged, but when Callahan is controlling them with his rage guiding him, they are so... jagged and almost more organic. It is a wonderful little detail, which informs so much about the minds behind the machines. Also, Honey Lemon's control on the bag is literally _just_ a periodic table. So, she's composing each one of those compounds on the spot every time. She is a chemical genius.

Around the time my son was about 15 years old, he was failing school and not doing well, in spite of the fact that he was a brilliant individual. I was attending college at that time, working towards a degree and taking art classes and a fulltime college schedule. So, over summer classes, while my son was out of school, I took him with me to my classes. Of course, I asked my instructors for permission first to have my son audit the courses. I was also able to get several to give him feedback on his work in class. Out of this, he suddenly saw the value of applying himself in his high school classes. He had been bored; it turned out he was too smart for the instruction level. So here was a 15yr-old excelling in college-level English Literature and demonstrating giftedness in our oil painting class and getting appreciative feedback from college instructors. Sometimes you just have to give a kid, especially a smart kid, a peek at what could lie ahead for him.

You gotta love that both Hiro an Callahan's journey is kinda similar. Both lost someone dear, both wants revenge and use their Genius to achieve their goals. Difference is that Hiro had Tadashi's and his friends Teachings and support, while Callahan was alone with no one to challenge his choices. The scenes where Baymax basically becomes the Hulk and when he ask after if killing Callahan will make him feel better and when he Sacrifice himself to save Hiro, are Gut and Heart wrenching. This movie is an absolute Gem.

i love the scene where Tadashi brought Hiro to his college. My mom was a lecturer in a local university and as the youngest child, I was often brought to her classes and office room after school. Sometimes she'd just let me wander around the building and I'd interact with the students and other staff (they often gave me sweets). I remember trying to walk into the library but couldn't because I need a student ID. Obviously it's because kids aren't allowed in a place students and researchers work, but that's what they told me as a kid. So I, literally like Hiro, was heavily inspired by the whole academia world that I pursued higher education, might go for PhD in a near future. Whenever anyone ask why I chose what I do, I always say it's because of my mom, and it's not just a filial piety. So yeah parents, keep in mind that your children observe you all the time. Show them what you wish them to be instead of telling them to.

There’s not much to watch as the show got canceled after one season, though the movie Serenity is kinda the proper send-off of the show since it got canceled so early and had a lot of unresolved stuff. It’s a bit of a cult classic and it shows its age at this point but I still enjoy the hell out of it. It’s like a sci-fi space western type of setting and has some really enjoyable characters.

I haven't even watched the reaction yet but I'm gonna predict big emotions from you guys 💜😂 *Edit:* I think Callaghan and Hiro mirror one another. Callaghan lost someone and had to focus on hatred to *survive* depression. Hiro also loses someone and begins to focus on finding who killed his brother. But unlike Callaghan, Hiro has Baymax; Baymax met Hiro just in time and began taking care of him. When Hiro faces Callaghan he gives in to the same hatred. But Baymax connect him with his friends and they help Hiro. Hiro gets to move forward in life, unlike Callaghan, who couldn't be properly helped. Because we know he was probably a good father. We can't really blame him for doing what his instincts as a parent says he needs to do. Or our brain doing what it needs to do to survive. But with the proper care, people, and time you can heal. And that's what Tadashi was trying to do. He was trying to heal *everyone*. He wanted *everyone* to have a baymax. And I think that's a beautiful message. One I think Hiro understands and will continue.

Love this one! I’m a boy mom, so in my house we were more into “Big hero 6” and “How to train your dragon”, instead of “Frozen”, and other Disney princess movies… not that we don’t love those too… but these were our favorites ❤️ As always, I absolutely love y’all’s reactions to these animated films ❤️

hitting ya with the feels right away with him losing his brother 😥& agree that Baymax stole the show! sucha cute character!. Story started off emotional, but turned into a kinda superhero movie "There are no red lights in a car chase!" haha & glad Baymax wasn't gone for good at the end there **phew!** quite a heavy theme for animated film aimed at kids, but they did in a nice, subtle way of how to deal with loss of a loved one.

Me and my little brother used to watch this movie all the time. So it brings back lots of good memories.

Years ago, there was a crazy conspiracy about Tidashi actually being Hiro from the future, something about time travel like they do in the Flash

I'd love to see you guys react to more animated movies! Like Atlantis, Emperor's New Groove, Spirit The Stallion, Sinbad Legend of the Seven seas, and El Dorado! They are incredible and I'm sure you'll love them!

I absolutely love this movie. But I remember watching it in the cinemas. And just quietly crying at the scene of Baymax showing Tadashis recordings... And then my mom beside me snoring 😂 can't really blame her since she was tired and just wanted to keep me company but to hear it at such an emotional moment😅

there is a show that follows up this movie and it really has great closure for the whole story at the end of it.

That moment when you realize the Big Hero 6 characters are essentially The Avengers.

The moment you realize the big hero 6 is based on marvel comics and potentially could appear in mcu

I'm glad you finally watched this one and that you enjoyed it. Another, similar, one I think you would enjoy is "Astro Boy"

Really wish there was a second one of these. (Not just the miniseries)
