i fw this tutorial 💯i would say tho with the parallel compression, if u send the full signal level to the send, the compressor would hit harder and then u can just blend it using the track mixer

Awesome video, thanks for the tip. Question, at the start when you’re turning down the beat and vocals etc do you need to reset that back to 0 once the mix process is finished? I’m going to try it out tomorrow. I am just curious to know if I turn it all down too much will I have to boost gain too hard to get that sound back? I record in my bedroom and often find my recordings to be muddy.. worried if I boost too hard on my vocals the imperfections will show more clearly… awesome vid thanks for the tips

I have way too many plug-ins!!!!! When I was first starting out I thought I needed them to get a good vocal track. Turned out I wasn't looking at the fundamentals. I had everything I needed right here in logic! Thank you for reminding me to look within first. Stock Logic Rules!!

Absolutely! If you can’t do it with stock plugins then it’s either marketing making you think that or don’t actually understand the fundamentals . Only use certain paid plugins that help speed up the process OR actual produce higher quality results.

Bought your vocal sauce pack a while back. Helped a lot. But seeing the process also helps a ton. Wanted to get a better understanding of the levels of the vocals versus the beat and how to balance so the vocals are not too low or too upfront. It may be a preference thing but my brain prefers numbers 😅. I'll try the gain option I saw you use to match the waveform of the beat but I still wanted to know how to tell when it's just about right

It is a preference and an ear thing you will get a feel for after mixing a lot of vocals. It also depends on the genre as well

Your ear will take some time to develop and know what to listen for. Spend a day mixing your vocal a bunch of different ways and experimenting. That will help grow your ear

And how do you think those people became so good at what they do? For both songwriting and mixing experience and practice is far more significant than any gift somebody might be born with. Write songs until they are finished, mix them as best you can, learn from it and start the process all over again. This is the way to develop your abilities.
