My tuner has tuned my FG in a very similar way. Many years and track days at 620hp with stock oil pump and head bolts and only a tuned zf and still drives perfect. Its the way to go for longevity

We tested its rigidity. it's actually pretty good. Not worried in a motorkhana below 100km/h and we have a cage coming

Is it tuned to protect rods? Or just tuned for the parts that don't suit the engine's capabilities and sold as protecting rods so the budget engine can still bear the sponsor's parts and not seem like a farce? 🧐 It's light! Still do skids like when it was stock motor sans marketing 🤷‍♂️ 👌

Look... I know you guys said the weight of the vehicle and power level allows you to keep the BA rods...but you are playing with fire... you are going to potentially cost yourself a lot of work and headache if you eject it out the side of the block. Why not let empire change the pistons, guaranteed they will have it done in under one day and may even sponsor you their parts contrary to what they may advise, it’s probably sensible to get em now and not wait until later when you push it... it’s the revving and shockload that kills em... and that car is still a heavy beast even with all the body chopped out... just saying... don’t complain about the Barra when the rods come out of the exhaust as molten slag

There is no need to. Rods go in BA motors from boosting 15psi at 2500rpm lol there’s a reason Omar tuned it like he did, it’s a linear boost curve that ads boost as the revs go up and not coming on hard straight away. This motor will survive.

High amounts of torque at low piston speeds stress the rods past their limits

Peak torque is where any engine breaks the easiest, but essentially rods in BA engines known to be weak so we tune around it

The engine was stripped to a long motor and gearbox was out to do manual swap. It took an extra 30 minutes to get engine out watch the episode on it first
