37 years old, 20 years in the NBA. Look at that footwork, and his fundamental prowess, and awareness. That was one of the single most exciting games to watch, as a Lakers fan. And we're used to winning (last few seasons excluded).

People are forgetting that while yes he took 50 shots, he shot 44%. He worked for these points. If you watched the game you could see that nothing was given to him. Kobe is just the ultimate competitor and wanted to go out with a bang. #Respect

The game when kobe had 61 vs NYC, he had took 31 shots, the game vs dallas which he had 62, he shot it 31 times. so if ur going to say, anyone can score 60 on 50 shots.. then bring some one who had 50+k of minutes, tons of injuries and at age 37 to even shoot that much. this was his final game, let the him breath. everyone wanted him to shoot, its his day, his game, if your hating, then your just a hater.

It may have taken him 50 shots to get the 60 piece but he still went 44% from the field. Last time time I checked 44% is perfectly fine but a lot of yall can't enjoy the moment for what it was. Always nitpicking...
@tormentor91
@tormentor91 8 жыл бұрын
+The King It depends on what you think it was. I think it was a nice send off for Kobe, however it was at best an ok game by him. The 50 shots are important for the context of the game, especially when you want to compare this to anything outside of Kobes performance this season. He has played a little better in this game than he has most of the season, but some people even talk about this being one of his best games, when it might not be in the top 100. I don't want to diminish what Kobe did, and he has earned the right to shoot this much in his final game. But don't act as if this was a once in a lifetime thing, other aging stars like Nowitzki or Duncan could potentially score that much if they were told to shoot every time.
@TheKing-md3rl
@TheKing-md3rl 8 жыл бұрын
tormentor91 When looking at the context of this game it is definitely one of his best games. 37 years old, torn achilles, fractured knee and a torn rotator cuff have all derailed him for years and he's definitely feeling it right now. 44% from the field, game winning shot 17 straight in the 4th plus ending the game 5 for 5... Just appreciate greatness and if you don't think this was a once in a lifetime thing your clearly not being realistic.
@twombly8800
@twombly8800 8 жыл бұрын
+The King yeah both of you are exactly right. This game should go down easily as top 5 in his career considering since this is his last game forever and also the fact that so many things were weighing him down throughout the game. I mean the last time I saw someone single handedly go on a run like he did in the 4th quarter was Tmac. And that was prime Tmac. Who have you seen go on a 17-2 run on his own. Like god damn, this guy talkin bout not even top 100. Doesn't know shit.
@TheKing-md3rl
@TheKing-md3rl 8 жыл бұрын
TheKidGamer Its the fact that he took 50 shots everyone is just saying "ohh its ok but...". When looking at the full picture its an all time great game by an all time great.

+The King Michael Jordan at 38 playing for Wizards scored 51 points, making 21 shots from 38 shots 55%, of yeh you might want to include Kobe 6 for 21 from 3pts (28%). If Mj really wanted to jack up Kobe numbers in attempt he would of scored 80 to 90 points.

+Toshino2452 Kobe for one plays his role unlike LeBron... Kobe plays sg . he's suppost to be the main scorer ... common sense tells u tht from the word shooting guard.. lebrons stats have always been padded... he's a athletic version of shaq.... only thing is he somewhat practices and has a little bit more of a jumper along with fts... Kobe on the other hand doesn't really on his athletic ability like LeBron to create shots for himself as well as others and unlike LeBron played in a way more rougher conference his whole career and managed to win 5 rings in it .. don't give me the bs he had shaq either because last time I remember he got his fatass locked up against Detroit ... smh the only legit help he had was derick Fisher and somewhat gasol until the meeting with the Celtics ... Kobe done so so much in his career ... having more assist than anyone that played his position all above him are point guard's... don't disrespect greatness the only person that compares to him is the man by the name of Michael Jordan and u can argue Larry bird as well...

Am I the only one who thinks it's amazing that he even got 50 shot attempts? The average person would shoot 50 times at the park and be gasping for air. That's what I keep finding the most incredible stat of them all, besides him scoring 60 obviously. Nobody realizes how much energy it takes for someone to dribble the ball, post up, spin moves, jumping on their shot, running back on defense, etc. Almost every possession Kobe was working extremely hard to get his shot off and somehow still had the legs to make his last 5 shots of the game. I mean, that's incredible to me.

+KobeBryant you are kidding yourself, two completely different scenarios. How about Utah, Orlando, Milwaukee, Detroit where they actually play young talent so they can actually grow? I don't really care for the Lakers, it's just that Byron Scott coaching has been pretty awful and I'm not even talking about the stupid things kids do and grounding them, I'm talking about the system, but if you are a Lakers fan and you are actually happy with him, go for it, good luck with that!

As die hard of a Kobe fan as I am, no way I saw this coming. He started off cold but then just caught fire and we got the throwback game everyone was hoping. Shame we couldn't get this in one last finals run but it's still jaw dropping to see how deep Kobe could dig in his finale with all the minutes and countless injuries he's had. Keeping that in my mind I think it's safe to say we won't ever see anything like this again.
