2001 Western Conference Semifinals Game 4, May 13, 2001 | One of Kobe's greatest playoff games and arguably his very best ever. His 2001 playoff run is seen by many as his most impressive run because of performances like this. Throughout that 15-1 demolition of playoff opponents by the Lakers, Kobe was counted on to take it to another level in hostile environments on the road. Game 4 in Sacramento is one of various instances where Kobe needed to take charge and with the possibility of a second consecutive sweep in sight, he looked to take the game over right away. In a very high-tempo contest between two Western conference heavy-weights, #8 forced his way to a then playoff career-high 48 points while simultaneously ripping down 16 rebounds among the trees. Kobe was as aggressive as he'd ever been in this game, as evidenced by his 9 offensive rebounds and 19 free throw attempts. The Lakers used to strong 39-point 4th quarter to win the game 119-113 and end the Kings' season.

It was an equal partnership haha tbh Shaq was more a first three quarters dominant gtfo of my way type player. But Kobe was their closer 90% of the time. That's only because of Shaq's atrocious free throw shooting. They complimented each other perfectly. Inside and outside.

yeah. people forgetting they run triangle offense which basically makes shaq the focal point of offense. but shaq didn't score it by himself. to run triangle and take advantage the deep post you need to have a good perimeter shooter/ facilatator that can run the offense. Kobe was the guy. not to mention he doesn't need much screen because that would clog the offense in the paint.

From the 2000-2001 season all they way till the 2009-2010 season he was the best player in the league! During that time period (10 years, a entire decade, the 2000’s) he average 28.5 ppg, 5.2AST, 5.8rebs, on 45% fg, 84% ft, almost 2stl with 5 chips and a ton of Defensive awards.. Sure a couple of guys had a few good season during that time, but accolades plus stats, he was the best player in the world 10 year straight, hate him or Love him. 10 years of Dominance is something special! Kobe had to guard Reggie Miller, Allen Iverson and Jason Kidd during their 3-Peat, while Shaq had to guard Rik Smits, 34 years old Mutombo, and Todd McCulloch. Kobe had tougher opponents than Shaq did during those Finals and people try to argue that Kobe was carried because he had less numbers. All of the teams that the Lakers beat were teams driven by the guards, not centers. The last time Shaq went up against a team driven by a big man in the Finals was in 1994, and you all know what happened.

How many of those hard fouls would be flagrants in today's NBA lol? '99-'05 was the last great stretch of NBA basketball. Tough, gritty, unfriendly, competitive...none of this bff bs we have today. You got hard fouled, you didnt cry about it. Sure you plead a case real quick but then you go back and answer with a poster dunk, or a facial in the defenders face and talk shit on the way back up the court. 2001 was especially great year for basketball because it was a perfect mix of 80's toughness, 90's athleticism, and early 00's streetball swagger and showmanship. None of this soft, kumbaya shit we have today and WAY less flopping. I remember that back in these days, floppers were considered bitches and not o well it part of the game bs we have today. Thats why players like Divac were given no respect by his opponents and non on the streets either. its a shame how soft the NBA is today. Flagrants and techs at every turn, no trash talking, no taunting just SMDH. #BRINGGROWNMANBBALLBACK

Kobe was so good he just needed Shaq and gasol to go to three straight finals. Kobe was the most complete player I know. He defended really and was name all nba defense 12 times. I think if the lakers would of had one really bad season after the Shaq trade they could of gotten a star player in the draft and not wait for 4 years to get gasol.

Cause he's not a threat to me and we all have opinions, but the lebron jock riders love to bring their asses to kobe videos and talk major shit..Why? Why else hate on someone to prove a point and it's only, because they're threatened by his greatness..Shits pathetic..They're both great..The end!!
