BBC News - Dubai Expo 2020 kicks-off

Here is my piece about the the World Expo that finally kicked-off after a one-year delay in Dubai on October 1st. This is one of the largest in-person events to be held since the outbreak of the pandemic. It's also the biggest event to be hosted by an Arab country. The six-month Expo is crucial for Dubai, as it comes at a time when the economic rivalry between the UAE and Saudi Arabia is on the rise. If the event is a success then it could consolidate the UAE's position of being the trade and tech hub of the region.
